Hello everyone,
After having experimented with direct linking with mixed success I now have started a campaign with a lander.
Offer: Bulgaria antivirus
Payout: $0.60
Traffic: Zeropark
I have setup 4 campaigns in
- Bulgaria Mobile Mainstream Wifi
- Bulgaria Mobile Mainstream Carrier
- Bulgaria Mobile Adult Wifi
- Bulgaria Mobile Adult Carrier
For each individual campaign I have set the budget to 20 times the payout so $12 and have set the daily budget to $6 so that I could see the performance over a few days, here are the results:

It is quite obvious that the WIFI campaigns aren´t anywhere near becoming profitable so I want to focus on the Carrier traffic campaigns, but how to proceed?
I have come up with the following plan:
1. Spend 20 times payout divided by 2 days (done)
2. Cut placements with CTR of 0% with at least 5 visitors > Should I increase this number? Perhaps 10 or 20 visitors?
3. Cut placements with CTR of 20% or less and more then 50 visitors > Should I increase or decrease this number? What do people normally use?
4. Cut placements based on OS
5. Cut placements based on Device
6. Cut placements based on Carrier
7. Run the campaign with another 10 times payout
8. Rinse and repeat step 1 till 6
Do you guys think this strategy could work or does it need adjusting?
Thanks
Hello eurosen,
your initial results look fine, great going.
First of all, is this a carrier billing offer? Cause if it is, you can skip wifi straight away, it's not gonna get profitable with carrier billing offers, those days are pretty much gone.
Now to your next steps, the CTR looks pretty high, are there any scripts involved? Like some timed or backbutton redirect. If there are, it's gonna screw up your CTR. Cutting placements based on ctr isn't the best idea generally, it's the best to focus on profits. But obviously, it's pointless to keep on running on placements that send you traffic that can't make it through the LP, chances are it's bots anyways.
When I cut based on CTR, I look at the overall picture and cut those that simply stand out the most ... if the average number is 50% CTR and there are some that have 5%, well it's an easy decision. I would wait for more than 5 visits though for sure.
Optimizing based on OS, device, carrier or any other major targeting option ... it's all valid means of doing that, just give it enough volume in order to reach significance.
Since you are green with the adult 3G part of the traffic, and mainstream 3G shows decent results too, I would simply push those further with a larger budget, try to open it up to see what's gonna happen.
And based on the good results with adult, you might want to scale to other adult sources with similar traffic - for example plugrush or clickadu.
Good luck!
Thanks Matuloo,
The offer accepts Wifi traffic as well but based on what I can see 3G traffic converts better, its an offer where people signup by submitting their phone number.
With regards to scaling, I am trying to scale it to Popads, Plugrush and Trafficholder, only issue is the tokens. I currently use brand and model tokens on my lander but I can´t seem to find a way to do this on other traffic sources as well.
@matuloo some geos have SMS flows that work well on wifi traffic as well, it's just not the easy 1click flow. However the payouts should surely reflect that.
Quick question,
The Brand and Model parameters on a landing page, are they generated from the
I am trying to scale to Popads but I am not sure how I can show Brand and Model on the landing page?
I know that with Zeropark I just add ?brand={brand}&model={model} to the landing page Url in
Thanks Amy, that helped a lot!
