Facebook Campaign Setup For New Site / Pixel?

Heya!

So right now I am running mid x,xxx a day spend on native sources to content sites and got that part down fairly well, but now I am looking to get into eCommerce with facebook ads.
I already have my site setup and tested some products, no winners so far but I figured it would take testing at least 10 products before I am able to find a winner. But not going to lie while I know how to advertise on native, I am kind of lost when it comes to Facebook.
PPE / ATC / Purchase there are just so many options, and some people say to go route while others say another. Although it seems the majority of the people out there recommend ATC when optimizing for conversions.
My question is do you do anything different targeting wise when you are running a new site / pixel? Is creating all your new campaigns with the objective of conversions and the conversion method ATC a good idea if you have a brand spanking new pixel?
Will it work well, or does the pixel actually need some data before you can run ATC conversion campaigns? If the pixel needs some data before you can run ATC conversion campaigns, what objective do you guys recommend for new campaigns?

Just trying to get some clarification if the campaign approach / goal is different for new sites / pixels compared to sites which have already been running for months and have tons of data for their pixel.

Thanks!

This is from a little own experience and from talking to others - the pixel is not some magical thing, you still need to feed it the right data. A new pixel used properly will beat an old pixel without good use. A powerful use of the pixel is custom and lookalike audiences, which is what the data of an old pixel is - previous visitors and converters that you can now build off of.

That means that if you have a new pixel, you can start using it and build this base, without expecting you get super hot sales spree from the get go. I think Part 3 of the eCommerce Cookbook gives a good intro to this: https://stmforum.com/forum/forumdisp...merce-Cookbook

If you are doing solid numbers with native already, I do suggest you have a look at this: https://istacktraining.com/master-class

I've seen the Facebook Mastery Live videos and a small part of this course, and it fits exactly the need you have. It starts with setting up your Facebook Ad Accounts properly, and explaining what are the pros and cons of certain campaign structures, and how to "warm up" the pixel, aka build that base audience.
