Hey Stackers
I am collecting x,xxx mobile numbers per day via my coreg campaigns and was wondering if you guys had any ideas as to what is the best way to monetize those mobile numbers.
Cheers
If you have the names of the people who own them then I will be happy to buy them off of you for my own non marketing purposes.
Haha I'd love to know why someone would by names and numbers for non marketing purposes? Serial killer? Stalker?
How about texting them with a link to a mobile CPA offer.
The problem with sending offers and such to mobile numbers that you have collected is that you can get in hot water if you're shit's not clean and to the letter of the law. If you randomly collect mobile numbers, don't have people confirm their opt-in (sometimes), send them things that can be regarded as spam, cost them money and generate complaints etc then you can have the long arm of the law crash down on you like never before. I'm talking $xxx, xxx fines and such based on number of sms messages sent. SMS marketing firms are very strict with their compliance as well as they face fines too. Mobile marketing is relatively new so there is a lot of pressure to keep it as well-controlled and legislated, i.e. free of scammers and affiliate marketers pushing shady rebills.
Is your method of collection of numbers planned out sufficiently with all the disclaimers, notices of how many txts they might receive from you monthly, privacy policies etc present on the lander? If not, I don't think it's worth trying to do something with it yourself, you risk a lot. [Insert cell number here] to go to offer is about the most non-compliant phone number collection approach you can get, although I don't know how you're collecting em. Plus it will cost you a bit to send SMS messages to so many numbers.
Anyway, in these times I would only mess with mobile numbers and sms lists if I had planned out a proper campaign/approach and had made sure everything was compliant from the get go. The moment you start pushing volume you may have people looking over your shoulder.
Thanks for the advice Zeno, I think I will leave the txt message thing alone. Sounds like it is way to risky.
