Hi Stackers,
I have landers that are giving me a crazy high CTR, how is that possible? I have some that are over 100%! That can't be normal right? Something is messed up somewhere?
Thanks,
Gerard
Never mind, just found Matuloo's post about this same topic, haha.
Glad you've found the answer!
I'd just like to point out that lander CTR is often not a good judge of how effective the lander is - there can be various reasons why a lander has high CTR. Getting the visitor to click-through (or even automatically redirecting them after a certain event, or after x seconds) is one thing, but pre-selling the visitor properly before sending them to the offer is another.
At the end of the day, CTR won't make you money, but CR will.
CTR would still be a useful stat to consider though in some situations:
1)If you're looking at placement stats and a vast majority of them have CTRs that fall under a certain range, and you see that a small number of placements have CTRs that fall outside that range, then something may be wrong with these placements, and you can justify cutting them based on abnormal CTR.
2)If you're looking at OS/device stats and see that a certain OS/device has a lot lower CTR than the others, it may mean that the lander isn't displayed/functioning properly for that OS/device. In this situation it may be worth fixing the issue to increase performance for that OS/device.
3)If the CTR is so very low, such that the CR would need to be impossibly high in order for the lander+offer to result in profits, then you can justify cutting the lander based on CTR.
Hope that helps!
