Error 400

Hey everyone quick question regarding Voluum, usually when I upload a new lander and then insert it into Voluum and then click on the CTA button i get a error message. Something along the lines that click has not come from the campaign url and no offer is displayed.

Today I have ripped a few landing pages and uploaded them, now when i click on any of my cta buttons on my pages i get redirected to some offer pages. First I thought it has to do with double refresh meta, I turned it off and yet the clicks are still being diverted. I don't know what is going on and it has me really confused.

I also have a few campaigns running where I am scared that my clicks are being hijacked.

Thanks for reading

This may be obvious, but just throwing it out there to make sure: Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

Also - are you using a CDN? Perhaps turn that off for the time being and repeat your test?

If the problem persists - consider uploading all your lander files and posting the link here for people to take a look. May be able to find a sneaky redirect somewhere. (It would probably not be me because I suck at coding - but will do my best!)

This happens usually where you open your lander directly from your lander's link without going thought your normal campaign link (that you generate from Voluum).
Whenever you are clicking to your CTA button, your tracking system is looking for some campaign ID to find it's path to the offer or whatever lies behind your CTA link of your funnel.

As already suggested from Amy above, when you are redirected to an offer, most probably your browser cache is getting involved to find a previous known redirect path that matches your CTA link.

To sort it out, just create your campaign and browse your landers through your Voluum generated campaign link (for best results clear your browser cache first). In case you are getting Error 400 again there should be some issue in the redirect path (even though it is unlike to happen).

Let us know how it goes

Let me try and explain better I intentionally use the landing page link in Voluum to verify whether there are any hidden links or redirects, if any offer or page loads I know it is not mine because i have not specified a funnel. Unless hidden links and such are included in the error 400.

Thanks for the posts!

LOL I'm so glad!

When something seems screwy, first thing I do is clear browser cache. Failing that, I'd fire up another browser and try the same url there.

These are my non-tech-saavy solutions to all net-surfing ailments - and I'm finding that more often than not, these are all I need to resolve the problem.

Ok, just to make sure there is no confusion.

Let's say your LP is hosted here: www.yourdomain.com/LP/1/, this LP has a CTA button/link that uses the Voluum's "/click" url.

You copy this url and use it to setup a LP in voluum.

Next thing you do is loading this url in your browser : www.yourdomain.com/LP/1/ and you click on the CTA? If this is the case, you will always get the 400 error, because voluum doesn't know where to send the click - because you didn't send the user/click through a campaign link.

That's what platinum suggested. In order to test this, you also need to create a campaign in voluum and use the particular LP in it. Then you have to open the CAMPAIGN url in your browser.
