Voluum Vs. New Tracking202/Prosper202 (6)

Voluum Vs. New Tracking202/Prosper202

I have a simple question. Has anyone, of recent, compared the improved (paid) version of Tracking202/Prosper202 against Voluum?

I have noticed that Tracking202 has now become much further advanced and has many add-ons (tutorials/guides, stuffs n junk) included in the pricing. Also, don't quote me on this but I'm not seeing anything about added cost to the monthly bill pertaining to a limit on clicks. In fact I checked, you can totally quote me, there are NO limits on clicks. No overage charges at all and the plan costs the same no matter what.

So how does Voluum stack up against this? I always used tracking202 (free version) and I just came back from a 2 year hiatus so I'm really wanting to make a decision on which choice makes the most sense. Obveez.

Please, if anyone can give me an educated answer I will not give you anything back at all. However, I will greatly appreciate it and furthermore, I can guarantee your karma levels will raise ever so slightly for your good deeds.

Thanks dude or duder

To really compare this, we would need to compare the cloud version of prosper, since they also have a self hosted one, with Voluum ... I was trying to find the pricing for the various versions on the link you posted, but all I see is $99 per month with not much details on whether it is for the self hosted or the cloud version.

Since I know we have people from prosper monitoring this forum and posting here, I'm pretty sure they will chime in pretty quickly. So let's wait for what they have to say on this.

Yeah I think Prosper / Tracking202 have changed their business model quite a few times so not sure of the pricing.

Nana is an active user here so he can chime in and explain things better.

Hi there

I have two versions self hosted and managed cloud.

Self hosted is $99 a month, with an unlimited installation license plus access to all old and new training videos etc. I push out new software updates 1-2 times a month.

In the future (12-18 months) I'd like to make all new versions free again, the monthly fees are only there to accelerate some dev work I would like some help with.

I found out that affiliates don't really participate in the open source model well (lots of taking with little given back). So most of the dev work is on my plate, so I made the public GitHub private and started charging to pay for developers.

Note: the self hosted version still comes with unencrypted source code

You can see the full public roadmap here: https://trello.com/b/sOw8T9UG/prospe...opment-roadmap

So if you want all that stuff above sooner and eventually free buy a subscription to fund dev work

Managed cloud is the same as the self hosted but comes at a flat rate with no click limits.

That used to sell for $99 a month too, which has been awesome for the people who would do a million + clicks a day through it.

Now the cloud version is mainly focused at agencies and advertisers.

Pricing is $1500 a month still with unlimited clicks.

At that price point it's currently only really a good deal once you are over a certain threshold of monthly clicks.

So if you are just looking at pricing, Voluum is the better deal for most situations.

Also I'm pretty much anti-blackhat, cloaking and anything that I believe harms the long term viability and growth of our industry etc so on the managed cloud I tell people to not sign up if that's what they are doing. I've sent a lot of people away to look at other trackers due to this policy.

For the few people that are a fit, the value add is the flexibility and ability to fully customize everything.

I work solo, there are pros and cons here. But some people like knowing that I'm the only one with access to their data. Plus it helps that I quit running cpa offers back in 2010.

I'm not looking to run the managed cloud at scale, this means I can give much more personal attention to clients.

For example, you will always talk to me directly (unless bot202 hijacks the conversation)

Each client's Prosper202 is managed via a private GitHub branch, so you can have your custom mods and add ons etc.

You technically don't need to do much on that side since you get priority response on your feature requests etc.

Turn around time is a few days to approximately 1-2 weeks on most small requests.

Overall the difference is like a mega factory farm vs your small local organic farm that makes a big fuss over sustainable practices.

You said in most situations Vollum is the better deal, pricing wise. (I must give you respect for saying so)
But what about advertising only? I don't plan on being a publisher/vender for some time yet, certainly not in the next few months. So in regards to running adverts ONLY, is it possible I could benefit more from prosper202 since pop ads tend to run high volume? I am also interested in Prosper because of the video walk-throughs since it's been over 2 years for me to run these campaigns and I'm quite rusty. I'm not familiar with what Voluum has to offer in that aspect. (video assistance and tech support) So if anybody can add something on the contrary, I feel like I may have an easier time with setting up Prosper202. The fact that you Never have to manually set your subid tokens again with Bot202 LinkAssist is quite attractive. Does this mean I don't have to replace values for “cid” and “payout”on the network anymore, or is that something else..?

I guess I fell off topic in that last question. I'm simply wondering if Prosper202 is a little more user-friendly. Basically. And cheaper for adverts than Voluum would be. 1,000,000 clicks aren't that many, honestly. I don't want to have another expense to have to monitor whilst I'm still split testing and playing catch up since I'm going to need time to get used to managing all these scenarios on a hour-by-hour basis. Like I said, I'm rusty. That's not my name, it's my disposition.
