Something strange with PPCmate

I started a campaign two hours ago with a new network (PPCmate). I made a deposit of 50 dollares and created a campaign. the bid was $1.5 and the daily budget of $10.

I refreshed the browser and found these numbers:

What do you think about this? I'm a bit worried it could be some kind of scam. Anyway, they are not going to get more than my 50 dollars. There's a chat service where a support will contact you, but it replied this:

Did something like this happened to anybody. Should I be worried?

Hi

I’ve been in contact with a member of the support team. We are communicating by email so things are going slow. The problem was the high bid, but that’s why we setup a daily budget. In my case it was $10. In fact, I started with a deposit of $50. My bid was $1.5 that means that with a daily budget of $10 I will receive 6.6 clicks, which is not enough you test. After that the campaign should pause until the next day.

When I asked the support guy why it didn’t stop he answered this:

The thing is, daily budget limit works correctly most of the time, but there is a possibility of such overtakings when the limit is low. The higher limit is, the fewer deviations can be observed.”

So, basically it’s their system that didn’t stop when it should. If the cash is going to keep going, why do we need a daily budget? So far, we are still exchanging emails so I’ll keep you updated. Most of all, in case other people get in a similar situation.

Well, The last email has shown that this "company" tries to ripp off whoever wants to try their platform. This is their last message:

"Our platform is using RTB (real-time bidding) system – this means that the advertiser with the higher bid gets more results.Since your CPM value was too high, you got massive bids. So sometimes its impossible to control the daily budget when the numbers are enormous."

If I have a $10 daily budget and I want to pay 2 dollars for CPM (cost per 1 thousand impressions), I'll have 5000 impressions. The same goes for PPC. If I bid for 2 dollars I'll have 5 clicks and thats it. Once the dily budget is reached, the platform has to stop it. I don't care of the system they are using or if it has flaws. Its so convenient to say that "sometimes" its impossible to control de daily budget. A good way to charge you a million dollars when your daily budget was 10, 20, or 50 dollars.

Ok, everything has been clarified and it was my fault understanding the numbers. The first thing I want to say is that PPCmate is NOT a scam and their support is great. The problem is the way I understood the numbers. Here is Spain the dots and comas have a different way of showing decimals. Basically I thought they were trying to charge me sixteen thousand and five hundred dollars. I was freaked out until finally we found out what the issue was.

I apologised to the support guy (Alex) and recommend this platform. And yes… I’m a newbie and an idiot.
