Working on Getting Profitable in Native

A little background about me:

I took the 6WAMC, did some pops and didn’t see a whole lot of success but learned a lot.

Got some great coaching from @sebastian_r in Native and took things really seriously. Have been working on camps since then but have yet to get anything profitable. Close, but not there.

All of my camps I have launched have been in AU or smaller countries.

All have been in the Nutra vertical. As soon as I started getting close, had a camp at -6% ROI the offer seemed to have died and went downhill from there. I paused that campaign and have recently launched a new one which I would like to share here.

So far, in Native, we are down about 5,000 USD.
Overall, with all camps combined, we have spent just over 13K USD.
Overall revenue: just over 8K

Stats so far for current camp:

iOS
Launched July 12th
Spend: 1401.34
Revenue: 1116.00
Profit: -285.34
ROI: -20.3%

July 19th:
Removed 1 Landing Page (1 out of 2)
cut 2 creatives
changed a headline for another creative
Added 4 new creatives
Cut 2 placements
Increased bid on highest converting targets

July 24th
Cut 5 placements
Cut all creatives except 2 winners
Add new creatives
Create separate campaign with variations of winning creative

Android:
Launched July 19th
Spend: 571.87
Revenue: 324.00
Profit: -247.87
ROI: -43%

July 19th:
Cut 3 placements
Cute 2 Creatives

We are looking into signing up with DriveAds because we find that most of our budget gets exhausted on Android outside of prime hours.

If you're running the offer that many others currently run in your GEO, it's a proven winner.

Some of my guys are doing between $100-500/day with it atm.

I would not test on two OS at the same time till profitable.

Make one work then scale to the others.

Since the offer is a winner, it's placements and creatives that keep you from being profitable.

Winning creatives will find their way to the placements, so I would focus on creatives.

Test several everyday till you find a ferocious winner.

Don't stick to mediocre performing creatives.

Ping me on skype to discuss creatives.

Update:

Found a different offer for the camp above that we have just got profitable.

We have scaled it to desktop which is at -27% ROI

We will gather a bit more data (desktop has been running for 5 days) before we decide to cut or not.

We are also going to launch on tablet, android as well as a different traffic source to see if we kind find some more profitable combos.

We would love to hear any suggestions as to next steps or how to maintain consistency in terms of positive ROI for this camp.

Thanks so much!

Update:

Had another good day yesterday on iOS with our total camp being at +17% ROI.

Desktop had no conversions. Cut all non performing creatives and only left positive creative running.

Launched:
- Tablet Camp (with winning funnel)
- Android Camp (with winning funnel)
- different GEO camp (with winning funnel) Our AM indicated that another geo is actually doing better than the one in which we are running in (same offer).

Our plan is to move quick and see if these outperform or underperform current camp.
Constantly doing live spying and research to see any new creative/headlines.

We will see how these new camps do.
