Desktop Display/Banner Sources?

Hi guys,

was wondering what are the best desktop display/banner traffic sources? In terms of 1)quality, 2)volume?

Thanks!

I've almost always run mobile exclusively. But AFAIK, google adwords is the biggest display source.

Or are you looking for adult desktop display traffic sources? There are a million and a half of those.

As Amy mentioned, google adwords is the largest, their display network has a ton of banner impressions/clicks to sell. You can go directly to adwords or get it in some DSPs like sitescout, go2mobi, avazudsp ... which will give you access also to multiple additional ad exchanges with solid volume.

For adult, you can check exoclick, trafficjunky, trafficfactory, trafficstars ... to name a few

There also native sources like revcontent, taboola, outbrain ... that also display the ads to their surfers, which results in clicks ... thou their ad format isn't a traditional banner format as we know it.

If you can be more specific with what you are looking for, we can certainly give you more targeted advice

Google display network is the biggest source and all DSPs will have access to buy inventory from Google.

For many who have been in affiliate marketing this next tip may seem like basic knowledge that everyone knows, but as Facebook and content ad networks are cracking down we (at AVID Ad Server) are seeing a shift back to cheap display traffic. Newer affiliates (affiliates who have started in the last 3-4 years) aren't as familiar with display as those with 5+ years who were doing display, moved to Facebook, and now are going back to display.

If you are using, or want to test, multiple traffic sources the easiest way to do that is with an ad server. You can use the same ad tag across multiple sources, with AVID you can set a subid to identify the source and see a breakdown by those subid values to compare impressions, clicks, CTR, and most importantly conversions and conversion rates.

Then you adjust your budgets to buy more traffic from the most effective sources.
