Why is Adwords with PPS model not recommended to newbies?
Hey - newbie here.
Wondering why its not popular or recommended for newbies to use Adwords? Seems like the easiest traffic source to get your head around.
Wouldnt it be easier to follow a PPS pay per sale model targeting a niche product (eg teeth whitener)?
I understand the data would cost more with less conversions as its not gathering leads...
but couldnt it be argued that its still easier to get profitable (+gain experience) here as a noob as youll have much less competition, than say mobile popup
(not to mention you wont have to invest in expensive vps and adplexity)
Or am i missing something here? Cheers

This is it exactly, newbies don't usually have 5 figure budgets to blow on testing. With PPS, the payouts are larger, you need to run for much longer to actually get actionable data.

I wouldn't say adwords is less competitive than pops, adwords is the playground for branding advertisers and they don't give a shit about ROI, try to compete against that ... the bids are often through the roof. I agree that adwords is the best traffic that exists, so with the right product, you can make a killing there ... but starting there as a newbie, not sure if I'd recommend that to anyone.

Cool, sounds fair. I'll launch my first camp this week in mobile pops then. Thanks again!

Yup, pops is the go-to playground for anyone starting out - it's the cheapest way to learn how the basic principles in AM work. As soon as you got that mastered, feel free to move to whatever type of traffic or vertical.
