Hello everyone,
We've just launched a store on outdoor activities equipment and would really appreciate feedback, especially on product choice, pictures and descriptions.
Thanks in advance
Link us!
Shit, I forgot
It's mckimley.com
The home page looks quite nice. I will go through the main things I saw that could use improvement and disregard what already seems good. It's gonna be more of a roast, so take it as such - it's more effective for both I think
1. About Us - could use some pictures from your travelling and using some of the products. Will make it look really legit and should make the audience connect with you better. Basically, you are trying to sell the lifestyle, and if you put a face next to it, it will help for sure.
2. Product pages in general - Quite the contrast when using stock pictures of the products compared to the rest of the feel. Showing these products in use with amazing views, real people, etc. and I'm pretty sure you have a winner on the visual side of things.
More of this: https://mckimley.com/products/malero...ional-backpack (and even better done)
Less of this: https://mckimley.com/products/digita...air-compressor
You certainly are going for the "Wow!" effect of travelling, camping, hiking, etc. You can get some awesome pics for that topic, just see the MRKTRS page - https://www.facebook.com/mrktrs/
Imagine having your products placed in pictures like that!
3. Videos! More than pictures, use videos at least for some products.
All in all, I think the technical execution (trust badges, responsive design, clean looks) seems alright but the missing piece is the branding and emotional appeal.
Let's see what the pro ecommerce people on the forum have to add
Thank you so much for your feedback.
I've just modified About Us page, adding new 2 photos of happy hiking guy
About this Digital Air Compressor - this is the worst product on this site and I've always wanted to remove it but devil inside me is telling me - don't do this
I will remove it immediately .
About branding - I don't have own products and don't know how to brand it cus I'm not able to print my logo on it.
This is just my testing site, just to learn how does fb ads work at all.
I would appreciate if some other guys who are in ecommerce bsuiness give their feedback
Thanks in advance
Thanks for sharing your store.
$ome feedback from my point of view:
- Get a copywriter to write for you. Example: "Upgraded version of our Military Backpack, designed by professionals for professionals. If you’re hard core adventurer this is exactly what’s you’ve been looking for." and from the same page "Our backpacks fit every type of skeleton, so you won’t feel any pain at all."
A copywriter can improve on this and make sure there are no gramma errors
The basis / story is good, but there's definitely room for improvement
- I don't have anything against the compressor - I have a 12V one for my off road motorbike. Hooks up to the battery, so when no one is around, I can inflate my tyres or help someone out. Awesome thing
The thing is though, it would fit my type of adventure, but not for someone who's going for hikes, it's not the best.
Picture doesn't do it justice though and like @manu mentioned, video would be great for such a product
- logo looks great, trust icons are well place below the add to cart button
- You could improve on your conversion from search by improving the meta description, which now is: <meta name="description" content="Imagine driving to your camping site. Driving up the dirt road. Suddenly you flat your tire. No one around you. You don’t have signal on your phone. Imagine it’">
write that as an elevator pitch, you've got 2 lines to convince a customer to buy this thing from you, what do you say?
This is a lot of work, so focus on the most important products first.
All the above (and the feedback others have already given you) should give you enough to work on for now.
Good luck!

I think it looks pretty good.
Which product were you looking to promote via FB ads? and do you have upsell items for it? Perhaps you can promote a really cheap item or a pay for shipping only item, and kick in with the upsell.
I think the "About Us" page does its job in a very good way.
Oh, and probably not important at all, I would get rid of the "Powered by
Good luck!
Looks good! Nice photography, and the physical address on the front page is a good trust-booster.
I'd strongly recommend you get a copy-editor to look over the page (or, as Pekadis mentions, get a pass from a copywriter to pump the language). Currently you've got quite a few grammar mistakes, which will seriously diminish user trust in your brand.
For example, just looking at your "About Us" section:
Hello guys,
Thanks for your replies. This is my new account, and from now on I'll post updates on my progress from this account.
