Question about tracking

Hello everyone I'm getting ready to run my first FB ad campaign for my ecommerce store.

Is the FB pixel enough to track all the necessary data or is it better to use a third party tracker like volumn as well?

Thank you.

Hey,

FB pixel, alongside FB Analytics (already on when you have the pixel integrated) are a great pair of tools for ecommerce, you won't need Voluum there.

Cheers.

I'm finding that ad attribution has been pretty unreliable recently.

Yesterday, I made 8 sales and my pixel fired 8 times.

But only 2 of those sales were attributed to the ads I ran.

Are you expirienceing this?

I've experienced something like this and even managed to talk to someone at FB about this. What happened to me was that a person who failed to make a successful payment still fired the pixel somehow. Facebook mentioned that this was Shopify's issue mostly but they will look into it.

Did you check your past ads if they have any extra conversions coming now? What about extra report? Maybe some people bought from your standard posts instead of ads or boosted posts.

No that's why it's weird.

Pixel is firing, but i cant see the attribution anywhere.

And i'm only running ads, no organic stuff.

Hmmmm - this would be a good opportunity to get in touch with Facebook. They are not super likely to help, but they might and you start learning how their support acts. I would do this regardless of whether or not you find another fix in the meantime.

Now on the attempt to find the fix here - Are you using Ads Manager? Did you check all dates since running the ads? You have 7 days click window, so might be someone who visited before?
