Need Help Marketing an Online Marijuana Dispensary (4)
Hey guys,
I was approached by some friends looking to start up their own online marijuana dispensary out of Canada.
So far, we've come out with a list of sites related to our keywords and plugged those sites into alexa to find even more related sites. We're looking to approach the site owners individually to buy some of their display inventory through private buys. We also plan on starting a mailing list and using a retargeting pixel to target some competing sites and related informational sites, targeting marijuana activist, industry news sites, marijuana hobbyist forums, and perhaps doing a sponsored forum post and buying some of their display inventory as well.
Other than this we've pretty much run out of ideas as to what else we can do from an online marketing standpoint. I still feel like we're missing something, any feedback on our approach would be great.
Since google and fb don't allow marijuana products to be marketed on their platforms I was just wondering if anyone out there had some experience with marketing this type of business online and could give some pointers, thanks in advance.

I think I saw some marijuana ads running on adult sites and torrent sites, not sure what the rules are like these days, since I never touched this niche ... but it might be worth talking to exoclick for example. POP traffic could also be an option, but again, I'm not sure whether the POP networks allow it ... then there is native ads ... but again the compliance issues that I have 0 experience with, when it comes to marijuana.
I would definitely try to email/contact a few of the networks and ask about it : popads, zeropark, propeller for pops... exoclick for adult ... go2mobi for display ... revcontent, mgid, content.ad for native... maybe some of them allow it.
Another approach is to browse the mentioned marijuana related sites and see if any of them run ads through some network - then try to reach out to them - if they are ok with selling ads on marijuana sites, they might also allow to buy spots for marijuana ads on their inventory.
