My Traffic Source keeps spending money but my Tracker does not report the cost
Hi,
I currently encounter something weird (to me) when my traffic source just keep spending money while my Voluum tracker does not report any more cost.
Yesterday it still worked well.
I'm using PopAds and leave a daily spend is 10$. When I nearly run out of budget (only 4-5$ left) it reminds me with this: Your campaign is currently throttled to spending not more than $1 per minute. Make sure to have more than $15 remaining in both budget and daily budget to avoid throttling.
When PopAdsd informed me this, my campaign was paused
So I set my daily budget to 5$ so that It could run again and use up the remaining budget (which is 4-5$).
Then the campaign was restarted and continued to spend money, however I did not see any new visits in my tracker.
What is the problem ? Did I do something wrong with the budget and max spending per day ?
Regards,
Tien

Hey!
When you create a campaign on PopAds you can choose the Throttling option to be Disabled, Automatic or Manual. By default it's normally disabled, but it seems like you turned it on. Do you remember which setting did you put there?
In order to continue receiving traffic you need to update the balance of your account (to have at least 15$) and not the daily budget of your campaign. If you still want to run your campaign - just charge your balance, otherwise, if you want to spend the last 4-5$ left in your account - go to settings and set the Throttling as Disabled.
I hope this helps!

Are you sure the campaign kept on spending money? The stats can get delayed at times, so maybe the numbers simply got updated later on and no new traffic has been sent? Did you see new "visits" registered by
Voluum after the restart?
If the costs were working fine in voluum on the previous day, there is no reason for it to stop working - because the spend is calculated on the voluum side - at least in case of manual cost tracking.
Can you show us a screenshot of your voluum traffic source setup page for popads?

I think that the next time I'll try this and see if the campaign will continue to run.

Source setup looks fine, can you also show me a screen of the cmapaign setup that's not tracking costs? Especially the cost model part of it. Thanks

Tien - did you modify the popads tokens area in Voluum, AFTER you've used the Voluum campaign URL to set up a campaign on popads?
If so - you'll need to copy the Voluum campaign url AGAIN and paste it into your popads campaign again.
You can do a comparison of the 2 links right now (i.e. voluum campaign link vs. popads campaign destination url). If they aren't the same, then you need to replace the popads camp url with the voluum camp url.

Hi Amy,
After checking voluum campaign URL and PopAds campaign URL, I found that they are the same. Also, I remember not modifying any tokens of PopAds in voluum after launching a campaign.
Now I am launching another campaign and leave the old one there. I will update if the problem still happen.

This is VERY strange indeed.
Could you please double-check your camp url (the destination url in your popads camp) to make sure the &BID=[BID] part is present? If it is, then there's no reason for costs not to work...
