Running Adult Offers

Hi everyone!

I want to start running adult PIN submits on tier 2/3 countries on Exoclick popups or banners (did some mainstream campaigns on the past, basically sweepstakes).

I've been reading quite a lot lately but I still have some questions, so if you could help me would be great

1) I've read that running adult offers on pop-ups, especially dating will cause lead quality problems. Does this happen too with PIN submits?

2) In deciding if to run pop-ups or banners, one advantage of popups is that I don't have one extra variable (ads) so I can focus more on the landers. Considering an average CPM of 0.1- 0.15 (for both banners and popups traffic) and an average payout between 0.5 to 3, I've found this numbers from @matuloo :

“ To give you rough numbers,0.15%-0.3% CTR is normal, LP ctr should be around 20-25% with mobile traffic and CVR has to go close to 10% with SOI offers”

With this numbers, going after the lower payout offers (1.5$ or less) don't make sense economically since you cannot turn a profit even with the higher estimates.
So with this in mind, should I run pops considering the low payouts? Am I missing something?

3) Is there a becnhmark of what the LP CTR and CR should be when running adult pops on tier 2/3? Similar to what @matuloo provided for banners?

4) When testing offers, is it better to rip one proven lander from Adplexity and test with that, or is it better to test direct linking and then start using landers with the winner/winners? Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot for your help

Cheers!

Nope, with PINs, there are usually no quality problems. You can run into issues by breaking the rules - for example the word FREE is prohibited in most cases.

The figures you quoted were for banner traffic and dating LPs and offers. POPs and PIN submit offers are very different. Also don't mix the pricing, $0.10 CPM will give you 1000 banner impressions, at 0.3% CTR you would get 3 clicks, so like 3 cents per click. In case of POPs, you are paying for 1000 delivered POPs, but the prices per 1000 are higher than in case of banner impressions, $1 and up for 1000 POPs. The traffic also responds very differently, so it's hard to compare banners and POPs.

Not really, it can vary a lot, based on GEO and the type of the LP. I was able to make some general statement about the CTRs because I used a specific example : typical dating banners, typical dating LPs and typical dating offers ... which is not possible to make with mixed PIN offers and multiple LP types.

You will almost always reach better numbers with a LP, but the LP has to be good. If you pick the wrong one, the results can be even worse than with a direct link. The problem is, many people use some kind of smartlink when pushing PIN submits, so the type of the offers changes too. Which makes it hard to use a LP that would relate to certain offer types.

What some people do, is starting with a directlink and if they see some offers are converting even that way, they focus on them by introducing LPs that are related to the offers.

Thanks a lot Matuloo for the answers Btw also thanks for your campaign optimization method post. Cutting placements last makes 100% sense and it was one of the mistakes I was doing.

Related to the banners/popups what confused me was that when checking the top CPM for premium spots on Exoclick the prices in certain geos where quite low (0.15 and similar). I'm assuming the top CPM prices include bids for popups too?

The bids that the tool shows you, are related to the campaign type, so if you are checking a banner campaign, the top bids will only show banner bids, not POPs. To see bids for POPs, you need to create a POP campaign.
