Need help with bidding strategy for campaign!

So I'm in this situation where I have a campaign in a small geo that is running at about +50% ROI. I'm also still on the street payout for the offer, so I know I could probably boost this number a little more.

Currently I am on TJ and the bidding looks like this (my bid is highlighted green):

Currently I'm one of the top bidders at 0.177, but I was thinking of increasing my bid to the top spot 20% to about 0.21.

However there are a lot of bidders on this spot, and I feel like the moment I increase my bidding everyone will just increase along with me and I'll be back at square 1 with the same amount of traffic, but now paying more for it.

In a situation like this do you just gotta say "F*** It" and just do it? I feel like with this ROI I need to get more of the traffic?

I'm still learning how to "scale properly", so any help is appreciated

Hey there!

You are thinking in the right way, good job! It's important to think straight and try to predict what happens when you make changes to the campaign.

Indeed, you are at risk to get the same amount and quality of traffic for a higher price.. But on the other side - you can't be 100% sure of your competitor's behavior. And in general if you are working with banner traffic, getting 16% most probably you are at the first position already, and the competitors you see could be getting traffic from different websites.

You could try to increase the bid and see what happens, or try to look for some whitelisted websites where your campaign could work. Or, in case if for you it's more important to keep the stability and the profit you are getting - leave it as it is. All up to you

This is quite an unusual situation, a lot of bidders with pretty much identical bid are sharing the traffic. I would say there is one bidder with several campaigns targeting the same spot. What he is trying to do, is to get more of that traffic, without paying more than necessary for it - so exactly what you want to do.

You have a few options here - try the same and clone the campaign, raise the bid by a small amount to something like 0.182 and see what happens. You can also raise budget and deposit more funds to your accounts - both are known to affect the % of traffic received from TJ.

Whatever you do, do not raise the bid too much and also watch the %, you don't want more than certain % or you will loose the performance and everyone will copy your campaign as it will be always the first one in the rotation ... sometimes its better to stay under the radar
