Offers Banners

Hi,

I have a question related to offers banners, now usually I see in affiliate networks that you need to submit your custom banners to the advertiser in order to approve them first.

Now and regarding to @caurmen mobile cookbook you need to create new banners in daily basis to test them and see which works.

My question is how I can overcome submitting my custom banners to the network (as this will slow my work to wait for approval) ? or just I can ignore them (my be they can't know which banners I am using ) ?

Thanks.

First of all, you don't need to create banners on a daily basis. Yes you'll need to do more testing in the beginning to find something that works well enough to make profits, but after that, you'll only need to replace them once in a while to prevent banner burnout.

So - you can either be transparent and submit all banners to the network for approval first, or choose to just run them without approval. DISCLAIMER HERE: If the advertiser/network finds your banners either in spy tool results or in the wild (i.e. on the site/app where the banners are displayed), you could get in trouble and lose your commissions or worse.

Asking your AM for suggestions would be good here. They know which advertisers are strict and which ones aren't. Some advertisers will state a lot of restrictions in the offer description, but your AM may tell you that they're not strict in enforcing them.

Thanks Amy for your answer.
another question related to this top. in general, are the banners which already crated by the advertiser good to be used or it's better to create my own ones to be different ?

Quoting Matuloo here: Use them only if you want to lose money.

Most of them are pretty bad and many other affiliates will be using them so you cannot differentiate yourself.

LOL @matuloo and doctorx regarding the "use them only if you want to lose money" statement.

I agree with that FOR THE MOST PART - it's in line with my personal experience and with what other people have told me about theirs.

Most advertisers aren't strong in making banners - this is one of the reasons they're needing to pay us: To come up with creative banner angles that sell. I believe that another factor is what doctorx has pointed out - even if advertisers did spend the time to make converting banners, banner blindness would set in after affiliates all start running them anyway, so I'd imagine that there'd be little incentive for them to put in the effort.

There are exceptions though. Some advertisers do promote their offers themselves as well, or have at least run initial test camps on the offers. And sometimes they would share banners that are working for them. And if the offer hasn't been run to death (e.g. a small geo and/or refined targeting such as a small carrier), then the banners may convert well for us still.

Once you've been running banner traffic for a while, it shouldn't be hard to judge whether a set of banners even has a chance of doing well or not. Most of the banners from advertisers were obviously created to promote branding - where the company logo or product name would span almost the entire banner, with a little non-descript (read: shitty and doesn't do anything to grab attention) image on the side. Those you can pass up.

For something like gaming or video subscription offers though, some of the advertiser-provided banners will have high-quality attractive graphics on them. Those would be worth a shot. Alternatively you can crop the images from these banners and use them in your own.
