Hey STM!
I am trying to sell an online sex game ->https://sexdiceapp.com/testimonials/jessica-tm (I will remove the link if it is acknowledged as spam).
I am a first timer in working with affiliates so this is extremely new to me.
How does the process of adding an offer to affiliate network look like in general? Are there some standard things to be aware? For instance, I already have a conversion tracking mechanism implemented on my site, but how do I connect it with affiliates?
What affiliate network do you expect to work best with my product?
The offer that still makes profit on my end goes from around $3 gross for 1 month subscription to $15 for a yearly one.
I am not sure about this, but I imagine there are some people buying a product, get commission and then force a refund. How do you fight against that?
Thanks for help, bigtimebuddy
In order to work with an affiliate network, you really need to know the life time value of a customer with your product - for various types of traffic ... this will help you set a payout that you are willing to pay to the affiliates who would decide to promote your product.
An affiliate network will definitely ask you to prepay for the traffic they send you, as a new client of theirs. That's why knowing your numbers is very important. You will be required to pay even for lower quality users - those who cancel earlier than you would like.
You need to be able to track the conversions properly and report them back to the affiliate network.
Working with affiliate networks is a great way of getting a ton of traffic, but you need to be ready for it - know your numbers, know how to spot the traffic you want, be ready to take some loss, be ready to prepay ... and definitely do not even think about it unless you are ready to spend a solid amount of $ and keep the deal running for a reasonable period of time.
NOTE: I hope you already tried promoting the product on your own and you saw decent results .. because attempting to enter affiliate networks with a product that is not converting, is pointless.
I am an advertiser direct and work with affiliate networks for my offers. it really does depend on what you can do with your lead first. For example if your payout is less than market then most networks wont accept it. You also have to make sure you can cover your cost on the CPA. especially if your CPA is higher than your traditional revenue form the offer. you should try to push the product yourself first because most networks will also ask for creatives and whats working right away.
Thanks for replying. If I were capable of converting my own product, I would'n join an affiliate network
How much of a budget are we talking here? $300? $1000?
And about fighting refunds, do you just assume that (random number) 20% of all conversions are fake and include that in your cost?
yea but I think you should run the product yourself to gauge it at least.. refunds... depends on your CS, delivery of product etc. and def should not be that high at all. I would probably do a test run with 1 network see what the numbers add up to and then go after other networks... cause networks will test and if your page doesn't convert then they wont push it to affiliates... thats why I think its better to test it first so you can provide to the network something that is converting.
in the end try network, understand the numbers after 1 month and then find new ones.
