How hard is it to install a SSL Certificate? I have a dedicated server at serverpronto. Would anyone want to do this for me? Yes, I will pay3 I'm cheap, but not that cheap
. Just wanted to check here first before posting on a freelancer forum.
Does it matter where I get the certificate form? I was think of using namecheap since that is my domains and DNS server.
Thanks
Mike
I've got a VPS with Liquidweb and installed a SSL today strangely enough.
I used a domain that I have registered with godaddy and did a bit of googling and looking at the support docs. Theres a bit of going back and forth but its easy to do.
I had to buy another ip address as a requirement which was also simple to do.
Have a quick look at the support docs. I was really tempted to ask technical support at Liquidweb because i know how good they are but it only took me 30 mins to do myself and i learn't loads about my WHM in the process thus making my day more productive
@ lancer thank you
Do I need to buy an IP if my server already has one?
yeah, +1 for trying to do it yourself. It really isn't that difficult and while I'm not sure about serverpronto, usually every host has a knowledgebase with an article that covers the process. I got my SSL's from namecheap as well, for every SSL you install you need a new IP as lancer said (which you can get for cheap from your host) - and yes, you'd need a new one on top of the standard one you already got when signing up for the server. If you get stuck you can always open a ticket at your host.
My additional IP address is only $1 per month
