Hey guys,
Giving AM another shot with more of a budget, after trying Native ads out last year with a lower budget and didn't succeed with any profitable campaigns. Although i am not a complete newbie such as i understand the basics like tracking, landing pages, basic optimization, and ETC. I am not sure where i should invest my money into, i am looking into mobile pop unders, popup ads, and the whole ecommerce thing with drop shipping products with Facebook. Any suggestions or insights on these traffic types or where i should invest my money into?
Thanks!!!
Hello chino23!
The question is, how confident you feel about the AM concepts and whether you need to practice some more in this field ... cause for example POPs are very competitive and hard to make work, but it's still the cheapest traffic type which makes it a good choice for learning purposes. Native on the other hand, requires a lot of budget and high payout offers, so it's nothing for a fresh newbie. But this format is here to stay, there is a ton of volume in it and could be a good choice for the long term.
Ecommerce is another beast again, it's getting closer to running a "normal" business that you know from the "real" world - dealing with customers support, compliance issues ... but it could result into a sell-able asset.
There is also the adult side of the industry, which is still competitive as always, but also stable to some point. But it's not something that you would proudly present to your mother
It really comes down to a few things : whats your experience level, whats your budget, what's your plans for the future and what is it that you would like to mess with the most.
I posted an article on my blog last week, that could help you make the decision when it comes to what to promote : http://www.matuloo.com/affiliate-mar...iate-marketer/
Hey Matuloo,
First, thanks for sharing your insights! I consider my experience level to be still a newbie, i have had a few profitable days before, but very very very minimum. The budget i have saved up for AM is about 5k USD. My plans for the future, is to build capital as fast as i can, it don't have to be a lot just to have more of a budget where i can use to expand to something else such as building an eCommerce store and doing the whole drop shipping thing and actually building a business around it, or potentially getting into the Nutra space.
5k should be enough for dabbling into drop-shipping, just don't attempt to run a very broad/general store, pick some niche that you believe has potential. Facebook would be the best traffic sources for this.
You can also start with nutra, 5k is enough to make it in a less competitive GEO - get in touch with adcombo. They have plenty of offers in such GEOs and they are literally all over the place lately, working with tons of affiliates
Thanks for the mention, Matuloo!
