Weird stat from voluum, is this bot traffic? (5)

Weird stat from voluum, is this bot traffic?

So I'm running a 4 lander test on zeropark currently and while in the first $10 there were no impressions I thought it had at least shown me two clear winners in terms of CTR. However I'm very new at the pop stuff and Voluum so took more time to filter everything possible and saw something odd that may make my data irrelevant.

Here are my stats for the campaign as a whole

Title Impressions clicks
Campaign 1 47,985 1,794

However when I filter by IP i get this

IpAddress Visits Clicks CTR
200.68.135.100 16 1370 8562.50%

I am totally confused about this view. Firstly I know this is including all landers so the more cicks isn't confusing but does that mean all my clicks were from one computer? And if so how did it do 1370 clicks in 16 visits? I either don't understand the IP address view and what it is conveying (possible) or something is wrong here. Any help appreciated because if that is all from one computer/bot then basically I got no real clicks.

Hi Corpsquid, I have the same problem with my campaign at the moment! I am 99% sure it's bot traffic, however I have already asked the question in my follow along as well, so you might check it out, probably we'll get a definitive answer soon

2 things I would like to point out:

1)Don't judge a lander based on CTR. CTR isn't what makes you money - CR is! And I've seen plenty of landers with lower CTR convert better than landers with higher CTR. Here's a method you can use to compare and cut landers:

2)Unless the traffic source gives you the option to blacklist IPs, there's not much you can do about this. So try to focus on optimizing variables you CAN optimize - such as placements, carriers, ISPs (if the traffic network allows you to target by ISP).

So when you see lots of clicks from the same IP, that is surely 100% a bot right? Can't think of anything else other than that. I've been having quite a lot of those in my campaigns, which tells me that I need to learn more about how to counter them. Is eliminating bad placements enough, or are there other ways to prevent them earlier? I've read somewhere about running a bot test, might need to check that out too.

It may be bot traffic yes.

Here's a step by step on how to run a bot test:
