From 0 To 40k In Debt, To 1k/Day

Hello STM fam! The lovely Amy has asked me to make a post in the success stories section. I wasn't quite ready to do so since I wanted to wait until I purchased my first sailboat, but I can always update at a later date.

I started AM around 2008 dabbling with random schemes or whatever you want to call it. Basically tried everything under the sun and then some. In 2016 I decided this would be my year. I signed up to STM and started my paid ads journey with pops. I was SO NAIVE! I figured I was the smart kind of cookie who could spend $200-300 and bam, presto I'd have a winning campaign. Boy was I wrong...

Fast forward a little bit and I've had some solid campaigns, but when I started out I funded everything on a credit card. Highly recommend against this but I knew I was absolutely sure that this was for me and I would make it work no matter what. Doctors go 100k+ in debt and nobody bats an eye, but an affiliate, like myself, goes into 40k in debt on credit cards and everyone loses their minds. This 40k figure is no joke. I was actively googling what happens when you can't pay your bills, how to file bankruptcy, etc... 2016 was actually the most depressing year of my life. It was the hardest struggle I have ever had to deal with. It took a toll on every aspect of my life. All I could think of was money. Sometimes in a motivating, hell yea I'm gonna bank so hard kind of way, sometimes in a my life is ruined wtf have I done kind of way.

Fast forward to now, I have a custom pops setup that runs smartlinks on complete auto pilot doing $500-1k/day. It's been truly amazing. I think I am the only person who is doing exactly what I am doing, although I think I gave a few people way too many details here at AWE! Whoops. That'll happen with an open bar I guess haha.

Moving forward, I am firing up some native campaigns while my pops camps hang out on the back burner. I was actually just going to let me pops camps stay as they are, however with the recent connections I've made at AWE I have some amazing oppourtunities to scale this to a consistent x,xxx/day. One of those connections has offered me exclusivity to 40MM global pops/day at a low price but an all or nothing buy. It could be really interesting to try to make this work and I plan on giving it a shot. Another important connection has whitelisted my campaigns on their network and allows me to run when I couldn't before. Others I have met include pops networks I have never heard of until yesterday and of course the general people I work with on a day to day business, one of whom offered to get me faster payments when before they said they "don't offer that unless you are doing 20k+/mo".

This journey and my trip to Berlin has been a truly amazing experience. I hope my story can help push others to achieve the same success I have achieved. I hope to post back here in a year or so when I buy my first sailboat.

Best of luck to everyone with everything you are doing. Don't give up. Never settle for anything less than what you think you are worth. Believe in yourself and everything will fall into place.

Until next time.

Cheers,
Brad

Good to hear you are stable now. But but but how do you create a 40k debt with paid traffic? I assume you only/mostly run profitable campaigns right?

Many, many unprofitable campaigns that took a lot of testing. Things I saw potential in that didn't quite make it, especially COD offers in Asia on pops took a lot of my money because I saw potential there. I quit my job as a part time server and went full time when I had a couple nice camps and then shortly after everything went to shit and I was in the red for months straight. That, plus the cost of rent, food, living, etc... Interest on my card was about $3-500/month sometimes. It all adds up really quickly, especially when it doesn't appear like you are spending much. Oh, when things were good I went balls to the walls with Facebook. Lost a ton of money setting up a cc solution, ip solution, accounts, warming said accounts, etc... Like 5-10k or something total if I remember correctly, and then I never even got an ad launched because my pops camps went to shit so I had to put 100% of my effort back into pops.

Quite a story man, probz!

Cheers! Oh, and I forgot to mention currency conversion fees. Topping up any account costs 2.5% in currency conversion fees. Paypal takes even more I believe. Then when getting paid, bam, another 2.5%, so right there I lose 5% of everything. I think I lost 5-10k in hidden fees like this but don't have an exact number. Now that my debts are paid off I'll be opening a USD account to solve this issue.

Thank you thank you THANK YOU BRAD!! Thanks for taking the time to write this - and right after AWE no less! I'm really glad you were able to get lots of value out of the conference.

It was great seeing you again in Berlin (after meeting you at the Toronto meetup last year) - and we all look forward to seeing you hit higher and higher milestones in the near future. It's just a matter of time now!

All the best - onwards and upwards!

Amy

This is something that also amazes me all the time, it's so NORMAL to invest in education in the "corporate" world, but when it comes to online biz, many people are so hesitant to spend even a couple bucks. We had some "company representative" show up at the STM booth couple days ago - when Manu told him we charge $99 per month - he was like "OH, wow that's a lot and you don't offer a trial ... that's too risky ... " - I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry

Massive props on your success man, you're just another prime example of how important it is to NOT give up. Not sure if I could could go on that long myself, but obviously it paid out for you

Florian! Let's not talk about my stupid dance moves in public haha. Hit me up on Skype any time and if you ever want to take a trip to Canada let me know and you've got a place to stay.

Cheers,
Brad
