Simple Profit & Loss Calculation Spreadsheet

I've only been a member of the forum for about a week, but one of the things I've read is to watch your ROI, although I've also seen some members clarify that you should also watch your dollar profit as well.

I mean, not much point having 100% ROI if you traffic spend is only $50 (not going to retire to Cannes on that).

To add to that, everybody knows there are other expenses to bear, such as hosting, forum subscriptions, maybe staff, etc.

I've attached a simple excel spreadsheet that some members may find useful (larger volume members probably already have their own systems in place).

This spreadsheet allows you to account for your other monthly expenses and help you to potentially tailor campaigns so you know what to shoot for, in terms of revenue.

For example, in the basic information I've recorded, I've said I want a desired ROI of 40% and I have a monthly traffic spend of $500. With other overheads I've recorded, I actually have a loss of $322 for the month (even with a healthy ROI).

So what if I changed my desired ROI to 50% and increased my monthly traffic spend to $1,000?

In that case, I'm almost at breakeven with a $22 loss for the month.

I guess the point of this post is to show you that even if you think you have optimised everything to the best possible extent, can you squeeze a bit more ROI? If not, how much can you increase your traffic spend to make up for any loss? Can a simple bump from your AM make a big difference?

Hope you're able to get some value out of the attached.
