Three Chinese caught with 347.000 sim cards & 474 iPhones
The Thai police have three men arrested with hundreds of iPhones and hundreds of thousands of sim cards to generate fake likes and -clicks in the Chinese app WeChat.
In a shop close to the border with Thailand, police found 474 iPhones and 347.000 sim cards from Thai providers, reports the Bangkok Post.
The three detainees are Chinese and have said that the equipment came from a company in China. That company would pay the group 150,000 Thai baht (about 4,000 euro) per month to pay for the operation.
With the phones and sim cards would be the three online activity around Chinese products are imitated on WeChat, the most popular social network in China. The group in Thailand are stationed because the cost of mobile telephony was relatively low.
