How to know which countries to use english in landing page and not?

I've noticed there is a large chunk of international countries that have english landing pages succeeding on adplexity. On the other hand some GEOs I see virtually no english on the landing pages.

Do you guys typically abTest an english and native country ad or is it easier than that to figure out which countries it works with.

Lastly how do you do your international landers that don't do english. Does google translate work well enough? Been doing that but i know from my own native language it doesn't always get it in the right context.

Thanks!

Hey,

For translations, I think most affiliates use One Hour Translation or Fiverr.

When it comes to choosing the language, there are a few guidelines:

- Language should be same as the offer page usually.
- Google the languages used in the target country. Some have many official languages and English could work if enough people speak it - also useful to choose the dominant language, even if it's not English.
- Split test to get a definitive answer.

I mostly use native language where possible and test a few when the country is very fragmented and there are many possible options.

Manu.

Google translate (although getting better) isnt good enough. One hour translation is very popular.

There are geos that you can use English even if its not the native language but its usually better to go with the native language.

However, you can run a campaign in a country and not go with the native language because of an angle (how about running a campaign in Spanish in the US?).

Hey!

I completely agree with the previous comments. Everything depends on your exact GEO, and you need to analyze it individually.

For instance, in USA it's possible to use different languages depending on the offer (if it's relevant for expats), but English will work too as dominant. Taking an example of Denmark - they all do speak really well English, but in order to get the user interested, it's better to use Danish.

As Nelson Mandela said "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart." In affiliate marketing, I would interpret this as "If you want a man to pay attention and react - speak his language".

But then - another example - India. There are so many dialects for each different region of the country, that probably (if you don't work with narrow targeting) it's better to launch a campaign in English.

So, everything is relative, and the best way to answer your question is to test different creatives.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much guys I can't tell you how much all 3 responses helped clear it up. I think the lazy part of me wanted to go english but it's true, see something in your own language and it clicks more. I speak a second language from my parents home country and if I'm at the store and the clerk uses it it's an instant bond. Funny how we work ha
