Hi
I’m a bit confused about identifying and filtering bots when you’re using a traffic source. I assume the tracker is the best tool to detect these bots. Is there a way that you can clearly see that your traffic comes from bots? In case you identify bots, do you filter them on the traffic source? I imagine that a clear sign of bots are based on IP addresses that come from the same place. If this is true, do you have to stop these bots on your traffic source? Thank you.
Hello,
there is no 100% bulletproof way of detecting bots, but there are simple methods that can help you to some extent. You can start with the popular guide written by Caurmen : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...ight=detection
You can also analyze the IP reports : many clicks from the same IP is a clear BOT sign for example. People setup bot traps - invisible links that humans can't click ... there are many ways of doing this.
And you are right, you would need to stop the bots at the traffic source, the problem is, they don't have such a feature
The best you can do is pause placements that have too high bot %. You can also target by IPs on sources that allow it, by using proven IP ranges, you will get rid of a lot of bots - this is a more advanced way of targeting though.
Thank you Matuloo!!!
