Will Facebook collect unpaid tab?

Does facebook ever come after anyone for unpaid advertising costs? Honestly I am not worried but on a certain account of a friend there's an unpaid balance of over 2k and he's a bit worried because it's all in his name. Just looking for some re-assurance lol.

I'm sure a few people in this forum have been banned and walked away without paying the tab, since they banned them... But if they are not banned FB will probably do something eventually.

I've done both... But all the other time's I didn't pay it was under other peoples names; probably haven't paid near 9k to them for various reasons, half being banned, other half was typically the person i was working with backed out and we never paid off the tab... this certainly doesn't make me feel very assured lol

I think I know a way to purposely get the accounts banned though, just enter payment info from a previously banned account. then i'll just get suspicious payment activity. am i right here?

Sorry for asking this newb question, but how can you have unpaid costs in FB? I thought everything is on a prepayment basis?

You run up a tab and pay it off every 24 hours, around 12-2pm daily. This particular account ran a day and a half, racking up about 2600$ in costs, and then facebook failed to bill the account, resulting in all campaigns being paused, and that's it. Seems far to easy to abuse this system.

Regardless, I don't think I will be getting in any trouble from the research I've done; and if I do, so be it. I look at it like I'm 'borrowing' their money in a way lol, just seeing if they remember to ask for it back.

I currently have 2 accounts with spends totalling about $3k and them not being able to charge the card for some reason... I would happily pay it off because I have campaigns on there doing well.

I've rang the bank to get new cards sent out to try and get things rolling but I'll probably just make a new account and accept their free monies for being arseholes Will only take a week or so to get back to $2k limits.

FB had forgotten to bill me for 14 straight days at October 2009,the bill was amounting to $xx,xxx and I was worried so I contacted them. their sales team then worked with me to bill my card for that amount, 5 days after they finished claiming what was owed, i was banned!

i have never heard of them trying to collect any amount from any advertiser. i know a few people that have been banned with $xx,xxx balances that were never paid and nothing happened. I mean, they would have paid if they could but FB banned their card, sooooo...

Also, if you're not going to pay be sure to cancel that card. in case they say 'screw it' after a few months and decide to ding your card for the balance due.

I remember getting an account banned with around $1.8k in unpaid tabs and I decided to use a different debit card and pay off the account so they might give me my account back. I was lucky and they did end up reactivating the account, and a week later, they decide to ban me again. (After I already made a good sum)

Luckily, not to be condescending to my friends, but the people who's accounts and cards I used will most likely not have 2500 dollars in the bank for a long, long time. Most of them barely float a couple hundred in savings in between checks, and even that's rare. Most people I know live paycheck to paycheck, and are not smart w/money lol. So even if they try to re-bill, odds are, gonna fail every time. I'm not going to pay them back because odds are the accounts won't even last, just like all of yours. I'd be pretty heated if I paid them back and got banned within days. Just make more I suppose.

This would be me if I paid off 15k and then got banned...

Well in my opinion I don't think Facebook can do anything to you if you choose not to pay off the debt should them failed to charge on your card. Especially for international affiliates, it's even harder.

I would blame their ad system for being so easy to be screwed and I am pretty sure there are tons of advertisers owe Facebook money and the amount won't be small.

Have had many accounts up to this point being banned; running far into the mid $xx,xxx range in unpaid invoices. They never try to make an effort on collecting. But damn, I would much rather pay those invoices than lose the account with all the campaigns.

Just got banned this morning with $3800 outstanding and have not yet been charged. Usually they charge me at 12am GMT and have not done so yet. Is it safe to say they wont bother?
