Sorting a DB of domains by "popularity"

If you had a database of sites you wanted to analyze for competitive research, what measurement would you use to determine general "popularity" as a starting point to begin to sort the list?
A rating of some kind that factored traffic and other important metrics that may indicate a successful site?

For example, alexa, majestic DA etc. Im not sure what metrics there are out there these days to compare a large number of sites as i have not done something like this for a while...

For example, if you has a list of 100k sites and wanted to sort this in some way that would make the data useful to start off with, what measurement would you use?

Is there a site or service I can use to export a useful "popularity" rating for a large amount of domains?

Cheers.

- Alexa
- Social shares aggregated
- social following (tools can do this)

For organic traffic, maybe:
- Majestic top million, yes/no
- SEMRush organic traffic
- Majestic TF
- Moz DA
