First Campaigns using PropellerAds and Mobidea (12)

Hello magisto!

Saturation is not likely your problem, propeller is a large source and Mobidea has a ton of offers. There can be a ton of reasons for the low amount of conversions, I wrote about the most obvious ones in a separate threads, so instead of retyping it here, let me link you to it : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...-Read-This-Now!

Check it out and let me know if it was of any help.

Matej.

Hi Magisto!

Matej gave you all information you need already, I completely agree with him.

Just a reminder to you, please, make sure you speak to our support team/account manager, in order to know the best offers at the moment.
Unfortunately there are a lot of cases like this, simply because the affiliates are not taking advantage of free help that we can provide, and choose not the best offers. As our team sees the stats from inside, we can tell you what could run with a bigger probability to convert. So, just reminding, if you haven't done so - please, contact Mobidea

And don't forget to update us! Cheers.

Try to set it up like this :

1. add this at the end of your mobidea links that you use in Voluum to setup offers : &data3={clickid}
2. use this as the global postback and use the custom option : http://XXXXX.voluumtrk2.com/postback?cid={{DATA3}}&payout={{MONEY}}

Replace XXX with your Voluum subdomain.

That's how I have it set with them and it works fine.

So instead of &data2={clickid} put &data3={clickid} ?

My offer url's always look like this
http://www.trklink.mobi/offer/111140|12147?data1={campaign.id}&data2={clickid}

and my Mobidea postback url was set to custom before and looked like this:
http://6pgip.voluumtrk2.com/postback?cid={{DATA2}}&payout={{MONEY}}

Will give it a try
Thanks

Yikes - could you please PM me your skype? I'll take a quick look.

And please update this thread to let me know you've PMed - otherwise I wouldn't know to check for it.

EDIT - just realized matuloo replied before I did. I've had quite a bit of back and forth with Mobidea over DATA2 vs. DATA3. DATA2 worked for me but they said DATA3 would be better, but told me they would fix DATA2. Before I had used the second tracking token in all other tutorials and posts, I wanted to keep this arrangement consistent so it'd be less confusing.

By all means try that first - my offer stands should you need further help.

Did you change both the offer url and postback to data3? Not sure if I'm blind or what, but this has to work. Are you checking error messages for the right time frame - aren't these the old ones?

Yes, i changed the offer url's to data3 instead of data2
http://www.trklink.mobi/offer/111140|12147?data1={campaign.id}&data3={clickid}
and my global postback in Mobidea is http://6pgip.voluumtrk2.com/postback?cid={{DATA3}}&payout={{MONEY}}

This is the most current error message

017-05-25T15:53:35.257
Invalid postback request Postback request invalid. Click ID argument: null http://6pgip.voluumtrk2.com/postback...&txid=OPTIONAL

We spent quite a lot of time on teamviewer - and verified all the postbacks as being correct - and eventually the errors did disappear. But for some reason the conversion are still not being posted back. It's very weird. Having helped hundreds of new people resolve their tracking and postback issues over the last 2 years, this is the first time I'm admitting defeat. If anyone else feels like helping out, I'd be very grateful.

Resolving tracking issues is just the first step. And yes - in the beginning you'll lose money. The hardest period to endure is in the beginning, where you're having to pay for the various services and tools you're needing to run your business, plus the cost of traffic. If you think about it though, these costs are already a lot less than what you'd normally need to invest in a traditional brick-and-mortar business even. You could buy a restaurant for 6 figures, or rent a place for 4 figures/month plus pay for utilities and labor and materials...the costs of doing AM is low in comparison.

You haven't even gotten started yet!

First of all, because you just switched to a new tracker, you'll need to learn how to use it and make corrections if necessary. You saw 5 conversions on Mobidea but only 2 in the tracker. Is this because there's a delay in posting back conversions? Check which offers have converted in Mobidea, and whether they are the same ones you're promoting.

Also - you'll need to add the zoneid token to Adsbridge. You need this data to be able to optimize your camps.

And no - one conversion is far from being enough. However, since you're just direct-linking to carrier-billing offers, there aren't that many things you can optimize. There are no landers, and there are a lot fewer placements to cut than for wifi. Therefore, if the offer doesn't look too hopeful from the start, you should probably ditch it. Spend 5-10x payout's worth of traffic on the offer - if you don't get at least a couple of conversions, consider testing another offer. That way you don't waste a lot of money on testing. And when you find an offer that looks promising from the start, chances are it won't take a ton of optimization to make green.

So the overall approach would be: Test extensively, cut losers early, do a bit of optimization on the winners and scale them fast.

Keep testing more offers. You can rotate multiple offers in the same camp as well - I talked about this in later lessons of the newbie tutorial.

Let us know how you get on.

Hey!

You still can try to optimize devices on Popads, but unfortunately you can't do the same with Propellersads, as they don't have such feature, so that one is probably has to be stopped. You could try to test more offers, but besides that you are quite limited here in optimization.

Since the worst performing placements have been cut already, do you think this offer still has a chance of getting green?
Nice start!

For that camps with -70% ROI: Try testing bids. Test $1.33 and also a really low bid of <$1 CPM. See if you still get traffic and what the ROIs will be. Consider opening back up some of the zones you've cut before for a retest - they may be profitable at the lower bids.

Next: Test a LOT more than 25 offers, and start expanding to other cpa networks. Try Kimia for example - they have lots of carrier offers as well.
