Getting Started: Setting Up Your First Campaign

Setting Up Your First Campaign

Congratulations on getting your new Track Revenue account set up! You're finally ready to start running your marketing campaigns.

Here's a Step-by-Step guide on Setting Up Your First Campaign

1) Create an Offer
2) Create a Campaign
3) Run your Campaign link to your Offer
4) Use your Campaign link to bring in Traffic

I'll walk you through the details of each step below. You'll be set up and making money in no time!

1) Create an Offer

In Track Revenue, an Offer is the link to whatever your Affiliate Network (or Advertiser) is trying to promote. It is the final destination for where your campaign traffic will go.

1. Go to the Campaigns>Offer Management page.

2. Click "Create new Offer"

3. Set an Offer Name, Url, and Payout

Once you've created a name for your Offer, you'll need to set the URL (aka the destination link where you will send the traffic to). You'll also need to set the Payout. We'll use this to track how much money you are being paid by your Affiliate Network on your Statistics.

4. Set your Affiliate Network, Hide Referrer, and Offer Caps Settings (optional)

These are optional menus for setting up an Offer. For more details on what each item means, check out our Offers Tutorial Page.

2) Create a Campaign

Now that you've created an Offer -- or a destination for your traffic to go to -- you can create a Campaign to run that Offer.

1. Go to the Campaigns>Campaign Management page.
2. Click "Create Campaign"
3. Configure your Campaign Settings

This is where the magic happens! Track Revenue has an incredibly comprehensive set of menus for you to customize your Campaign however you wish. Here is a list of our most essential menu settings. For a complete breakdown of all of our menu items, check our Campaign Management Tutorial Page.

Direct Link, Landing Page, or Smart Link

"Direct Link" directs traffic straight to offer
"Landing Page" directs traffic to the Landing Page before the Offer
"Smart Link" directs traffic through a Smart Link of our choice set up on the Smart Links Tab. For details, see our Setting Up Smart Links tutorial.

Name

Name your campaign! You may use anything you like, although many customers usually include country code, offer, traffic source, traffic pricing model, device target, etc.
Example: US - CandyCrush [Google Adwords - CPC] Android

Campaign URL

This is an auto-generated campaign link. This is the link that you will send to your traffic source.

Cost Tracking

Enter your static traffic cost

CPC = Cost per click
CPA = Cost per Action
Revshare = Cost as % of Revenue
CPM = Do not track

If you want to track dynamic traffic cost, contact your Account Manager to activate this feature. Make sure that your traffic source can pass the cost amount per click as a c-token.

Domain

Select one of the Tracking Domains that you set up on your Tracking Domain page to use for your campaign. For details, see Setting Up Tracking Domains.

Campaign Group

Select one of the Campaign Groups that you set up on your Campaign Group page to use for your campaign. For details, see Setting Up Campaign Groups.

Traffic Source

Select one of the Traffic Sources that you set up on your Traffic Source page to use for your campaign. For details, see Setting Up Traffic Sources.

Manager

Select the Manager User Account who you wish to manage this campaign. Managers will see all the details necessary to track this campaign.

Landing Page Expiration

Select how long the Landing Page will expire after the initial visit to the Landing Page. After expiration, revisits will arrive directly to the offer (skipping the landing page).

Time Zone

By default, the campaign time zone is set to be the same as the user account's time zone. A different time zone can be selected here if desired.

Block/Filter URL

Set a URL that you wish to block here. For details, see Blocking URLs.

LP/Offer Rotation by IP

"Off" uses typical settings set on Landing Page tab
"Rotate Evenly" evenly rotates when all of the Offers and Landing Pages are shown
"Strict Ordering" shows Offers and Landing Pages in order according to how you have set them up.

E.g.
1st visit: Direct to Landing Page 1/Offer 1
2nd visit: Direct to Landing Page 2/Offer 2
3rd visit: Direct to Landing Page 3/Offer 3
(up to 50 maximum)

Event Postback

Used for Pay-Per-Call campaigns or other offline campaigns. This function will generate a pixel that you can in turn place on the offline conversion tracking software.

Hide Referrer

Hides Referrer from being passed to the advertiser. For details on this, see the Hide Referrer Guide.

4. Under the Campaign Configuration settings, set Type to Direct Link

As you become a pro at using Track Revenue, you will find that we provide TONS of customization for sending your Campaign traffic to your desired Offer. For the sake of keeping this guide simple, we'll use the direct link setting only.

3) Run your Campaign link to your Offer

1. Select the Offers tab next to the Configuration tab
2. Select the "Add Offer" button
3. Search and select the Offer you created in step 1 that you wish this Campaign to run traffic for

4) Use your Campaign Link to Bring in Traffic

1. Go back to the Campaign Configuration page to get your shiny new Campaign Link
