Hi
I have a question about landing pages and having a Web page and a hosting I’ve been reading a lot about people testing different landing pages with one single campaign. They also have dozens of offers running with many landing pages. I’m a bit confused about this.
I’ve read posts that say that the best thing to do is have a domain for each campaign. Does that mean that if you are running lets say 20 offers you need 20 name domains, each with their own hosting? There are also some affiliates that say that they only use their main web site and put there all the landing pages for each campaign. It would be something like this:
www.MYWEBSITE/landing_page_dating
www.MYWEBSITE/landing_page_games
What’s the best way to use landing pages? Having one domain/hosting or a lot of them? I’m also confused about using a VPS, CDN, etc. Do we need more than one (which would be very expensive)?
Another thing that seems important is having a good web site when you apply to an affiliate network. I read a guide here in STM saying that the best approach is using a company domain name. Is it always advisable to have a web page to be accepted by an affiliate network? As you can see I’m pretty new on AM offers. Thank you in advance.
You dont need 20 domains with 20 hostings for each offer :-)
You can start off with 1 generic domain and use subdomains if you want to differentiate between verticals or just get a couple of domains.
Then you can point all domains to ONE hosting (ideally VPS or CDN) and that's it.
You can create a company website, I have just a simple business card style one, but I never really needed it.
Thank you erikgyepes. So I understand that this way I don’t really need a Web site. The domains could be related to the offers somehow and the landing pages would be stored in the VPS or CDN service. For example, if I’m doing games, dating and iPhones, I could have something like this:
www.bestgameseverforyou.com
www.bestdatingeverforyou.com
www.bestiphoneseverforyou.com
So I would have a landing page for each domain on the VPS. Is this right? It wouldn’t be exactly having a Website but a number go landing pages for the campaigns. Thank you.
Yep, it could work like this.
And then under each domain you can make folders (come up with your naming system that you will understand) for each lander in a specific geo.
