Ok so I just found out that getting paybumps from a network can be counterproductive sometimes...my question is why? I really don't understand how can that be a bad thing sometimes can someone please explain
Paybumps are only bad if the network bumps you and then starts scrubbing conversions.
For the most part paybumps are a good thing (assuming you are working with honest networks).
Pay bumps are often a race to the bottom.
Generally your quality won't be much higher than the average affiliates' so why would you get a higher than average payout? Most often you won't.
I usually recommend people to not focus on pay bumps in order to make money, they are only for show. It's different if the network gives it to you directly of course. You shouldn't say no to it then but if you ask for it, and you easily get a high increase percentage wise, be very sceptical of its legitimacy.
If it is a genuine pay bump, that is great.
If it is a fake pay bump (like stores that advertise 50% off sales after increasing the price by 100%), then that is just a gimmick.
Thanks everyone
I wrote an article on paybumps some time ago, so instead of typing the stuff again, here it is for youto read : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...what-to-expect
