Hi,
I've usually made my FB ads like
Campaign (one targeting) > Ad sets (one pic variation per) > Ad So multiple campaigns. Because I've been told that if you have variations in the ad sets, FB might favor one really quick and some may not get traffic at all.
Are there any better ways of doing it? Any benefit of having variations in the ad sets?
The major benefits of having multiple variations within an ad set is that:
1. They will share the same budget and this may make it easier to test at low budgets initially
2. They share the same pixel optimisation data/learnings, so collectively feed the systems that help improve performance over time (and help you meet minimum data requirements)
3. It can be easier than managing a bajillion ad sets
The disadvantage being that you can't control how Facebook allocates delivery within that ad set. But given enough budget and with proper FB tracking, this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Test.
Thanks for clearing that up! Yes, I will test both ways, I was just confused seeing both methods being taught.
I do 1 campaign, 1 adset and 3 duplicated ads. Separating each ad variable in a different adset. Also make sure when I dupe the ads they have the same post ID so engagement is counted for that particular post which helps me lower cost in the long-run.
Cheers!
