2-Months to Super Alliliate

Hey Guys,

I would love some input.

I've been chipping away at AM for the last 3 months. The first couple was fairly un-focused, trying a bit of everything. This last month has been focused heavily on the dating niche on FB.

The image I'm attaching below is my %ROI on a daily basis over the last two months on a ~$200 daily spend.

As you can see from the image I've had ups and downs, but still uncomfortably under water and behind on my goals.

My short-term goal is $2k/day spend at 20%+ ROI. I'm throwing everything at this to make it happen before the end of the year. (Actually, by ASW.)

Where I could use some guidance . . .

I think I've got my FB process just about nailed, and expect it to be generating a healthy ROI very shortly.

Once I get that where it should be, what would you recommend as next steps?

1) Continue with FB, expanding dating as far as possible?
2) Continue with FB, going into another niche (I'm itching to try diet)
3) Go into media buying (diet or bizopp)
4) Other?

I welcome your thoughts!

Are you running international dating on FB?

i would stick with dating because one of the easiest niches (try international offers!)...so it should be possible to get a 20% roi pretty quick..i would test a couple different offers and countries..you could also try dating on pof. trying diet, bizopp offers on media buys now would be suicide because you'll need a lot of money to test, optimize etc and a very good knowlege of lp testing, banner creation etc..so it's a long learning curve.. btw i hate the term "super affiliate" :-)

haha no i hate the term in general...there is no such thing like a super affiliate..there are just affiliates that can make it work and scale and affiliates that can't make it work..ever

back to topic :-)

you should have a lot of data from your previous campaigns that failed..so you can avoid to make the same mistakes again...have a look at that case study http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...highlight=punk and try to figure out your own angle..this way you will be able to get a nice roi..pumping out broad campaigns does work too but your margins will be much smaller and you will have to do volume to get a high payout..so i would focus on angle/niche stuff first!

Yeah, I do have a lot of data. Here's a summary:

1) I've never been able to make UK or AU work. They've always been high loss campaigns for me.
2) I've had two countries with high ROI, but the advertiser didn't like the quality and nixed my affsub. (That's when I've taken the big hits in my daily ROI.)
3) Everything I've done has been direct link, usually in the 25-39 age bracket, bidding CPC (except for one country where I'm CPM)
4) I've tested 600 images, and have 25 that consistently get a CTR of 0.08-0.15%.

Anyway, that's why I think I'm pretty close to where I need to be.

What I'm doing right now is putting new offers into my two winning countries, testing in about 6 others, and launching 1 niche campaign in the US (demo = 125k). All direct link.

So, let me ask my dumb question. And this is really what this thread is about.

Is 2k/day spend on facebook in the dating niche a realistic target for me to aim for? (I do have two 2k accounts.) Or, will I need to expand to reach that target.

Thanks. Danke. And all that stuff.

1) UK and AU are highly competitive because they are english speaking..try other european countries or even some asian campaigns (be2)
2) Direct linking is fine on FB..i always direct link in the beginning to quickly see if the offer even converts..if it totally tanks then a lp won't help much either. But if you have a promoising DL campaign i would split test a LP in to see if you can increase the roi with it. But if you are using a very specific angle you'll need a LP.
4) What i would do know is pick 1-3 top performing images and test different offers/countries with different offers..as you already have high ctr images you can do these test with a very small budget. so basically what you are doing right now with testing more offers is the right thing. I'm sure you'll find a winner soon if you continue...i'm not sure whats your budget but i wouldn't worry about your spending limit right now..it's more important to get something profitable first. and with 2 2k accs you can spend 28k a week :-) thats huge

make sure to break things out alot...test a bunch of interests....break out the ages yr by yr.....then you will start to find these profitable little pockets of people....then rinse and repeat.....over and over......

Great stuff. Thanks.

I do break down the age into manageable chunks, but I could probably go further.

Except for the niche I started today, I've never target interests. Maybe that is my next step.

That, and testing an LP.

some of the most successful dating campaigns on fb were very focussed on interests as an angle.

stackman did a post about this a long time ago where I think he used people interested in cycling.

Thanks tijn. Not sure how I missed that post. Interestingly enough, the niche campaign I set up yesterday (using interests) is 100% ROI out of the gate. So, I think this gives me a solid direction. Thanks everyone for the guidance. I'll be overlord-affiliate in no time!
