Hey guys,
I used to do affiliate marketing a while ago (2009 - 2012ish) then got out of the industry and more involved in web design / development side of things. I'm interested in applying some affiliate strategies for the products I build for my clients and my own products.
Example 1: I have a subscription-based product in the finance vertical. All of the sales have been coming from SEO (we rank pretty highly for the niche we're in). Then we funnel that traffic into an email optin and get almost all of our sales via an email marketing series. It's very rare to just have direct purchases.
I'd like to start driving paid traffic using some ad networks. Which networks would be ideal here and what kind of strategy is good? Should I just try to get optins and then funnel those people into the existing sales funnel? Should I try to sell directly off a landing page (the price point is fairly high $100 - $500 depending on the package they choose).
I tried brief adwords and FB campaigns, but neither worked very well. Had a couple sales with FB initially, but then nothing after that. Adwords had zero sales, but I'm reworking the campaigns now. Open to other channels, of course.
Example 2: I have a few niche dating sites that sell how-to dating products (kind of like Double Your Dating https://doubleyourdating.com/ but niched down further). Haven't had much success, but all traffic is organic now. Price points are pretty low. I'm thinking about doing mobile pop on adult sites, but curious if anyone has any other suggestions?
I'm also just using Google Analytics / Optimizely for tracking and split testing right now. Should I switch to using a tool like
Hoping to take these products much further with a better advertising strategy!
