post back url
Hi guys,
I started to advertise a sweepstakes campaign, IE (direct linking).
So, I took the campaign and put it on Voluum, to make all the necessary setting for starting its advertising on propellerads.
This is the URL postback I've setted: ...voluumtrk.com/postback?cid={aff_click_id}&payout={payout}
This is the campaing URL: ...voluumtrk.com/84ffd204-590f-45f3-a4b5-2291d74d73ed?zoneid={zoneid}&campaignid={campaigni d}&visitor_id=${SUBID}
Althougt the campaign is running, I am sure something is wrong. If I put the above campaign URL in a browser, it says: “this campaign is not available”.
Do you have any idea on what's wrong here?
Looking froward to hearing from you, guys.
Cheers,
M

Let me outline the possible problems :
1. Your campaign URL has a SPACE in it, is it a typo or is that how you tested it? voluumtrk.com/84ffd204-590f-45f3-a4b5-2291d74d73ed?zoneid={zoneid}&campaignid={campaigni d}&visitor_id=${SUBID}
2. There can be a problem with the offer setup in Voluum, can you show me the url you used? Not the postback or Campaign URL, I want to see the "offer url" that you took from the affiliate network and how you edited it in Voluum offer setup.
3. You are checking the URL from a GEO (yours) that the offer doesn't accept, so you are redirected to that error message.

Thanks for your quick replay!!!
1. it was a typo error, actually the campaign URL is: voluumtrk.com/84ffd204-590f-45f3-a4b5-2291d74d73ed?zoneid={zoneid}&campaignid={campaigni d}&visitor_id=${SUBID}
2. When it comes about the offer setup in Voluum, it might be possible to be something wrong. Please see below the "OFFER URL": http://t.mpire.nxus.mobi/?aid=707493&cid=1010621&aff_click_id={affiliate_cl ick_id}
3. before I start testing the links, I activate the VPN for the GEO (IE), it still shows that error message.
Cheers!!!

So, I only now can see that once I paste the link it seems to appear a space there... although in Voluum it doesn't appear...anyway

Your offer link in
Voluum is incorrect. Instead of:
&aff_click_id={affiliate_click_id}
Please put this:
&aff_click_id={clickid}
The space in the url is a glitch in the forum software (vbulletin). No problems there if your actual url doesn't contain that space.
However, the mistake above shouldn't cause the "campaign is not available" error. Could you try another offer? Test an offer that accepts wifi, and set your VPN to the target geo.
Also: If you're running a carrier-only offer, just run a little bit of traffic, then look at stats on your mpire dashboard to see if it's recording the clicks under the right offer. If so, you should be good. If not, then you'll need to tell your AM - like matuloo pointed out, the aff network may be redirecting your traffic to another offer. Possible reasons: 1)you may be sending traffic that is not accepted by the offer, 2)the aff network made a mistake when setting up the offer, or 3)the offer has expired/ended so the system is redirecting to other offers.
Best of luck! And do please let us know how you get on!

Hi Amy,
I am replying here as you wanted to know how did I cope with the above campaign. Unfortunately, few hours after your replay, that campaign was stopped due to the developer's request... .
I tried running other different campaigns, none of them completely successful.
I am going to show you below my last campaign from yesterday. I mainly face the same problem: There is only 1 conversion, over 17k visits (the conversion can be seen only in the affiliate network - it doesn't appear at all in the tracking tool + traffic source). Also, I am not able to see the number of clicks and the cost in tracking tool + traffic source.
Type of campaign: online shopping app
Geo: Saudi Arabia
Payout: 1.20$
Platform: IOS
Affiliate network: Avazu Inc
Traffic source: PropellerAds (Method: CPM)
Tracking tool: Voluum
I took one landing page from Adplexity and changed it with different angles:
There were generated 4 LPs (2 English language/2 Arabic language).
I decided host them in two places to test the LPs' speed (4 of them were hosted on my own subdomain and the other 4 were hosted in Rackspace CDN container - Hong Kong Asia - this was the only option from Asia I could choose).
Landing page eg: http://25899e728fa2cdd9a109-a294f5b0...com/index.html
I made the settings in Voluum (adding the main offer with 8 LPs). Screenshots below:

I took the campaign URL from Voluum and I put it in Propellerads (new campaign).
Screenshots below:

The bid was set-up at 1.79$ CPM
Issues:
- I've registered over 17K visits, 1 single conversion - number of clicks and cost don't show up in traffic source + tracking tool
- In the affiliate network there is showed the number of users' clicks that clicked the install button - being directed in app store

So I am wondering:
is anything wrong with the campaign's setup? Is it normal that from 96 clicks to have only 1 conversion?
Looking forward to hearing back from you, guys...I feel like I learned so many staff in this whole time, but I'm still far away from seeing a successful campaign, so your help and advise will be highly appreciated!!!
Cheers,
M

Also, I am not able to see the number of clicks and the cost in tracking tool + traffic source.
This is very strange!
For Avazu - please check your postback that you pasted into your Avazu account (API Postback > Piggyback URL). It should look like this:
http://12abc.voluumtrk2.com/postback?cid=[dv2]&payout=[conversion revenue]
Also, when adding your avazu aff url into
Voluum as an offer, be sure to append the token "dv2={clickid}".
You don't have to use dv2 - you can use dv1/3/4/5 - just make sure it's the same variable in both urls above.
EDIT: I just looked over your screenshots again and see that you're using dv1 - so make sure you append "dv1={clickid}" to your offer link in Voluum.
other 4 were hosted in Rackspace CDN container - Hong Kong Asia - this was the only option from Asia I could choose).
I've never used Rackspace, but this sounds very strange - CDNs are supposed to have servers locations all over the world so they could serve your landers to any visitor from the closest location. If that CDN has a location restriction, then you need to choose another provider. I use Amazon cloudfront and it's been working well. So you can consider switching (or figure out how to make rackspace CDN serve pages from all over the world and not just Asia!)
Issues:
- I've registered over 17K visits, 1 single conversion - number of clicks and cost don't show up in traffic source + tracking tool
- In the affiliate network there is showed the number of users' clicks that clicked the install button - being directed in app store
AH! I just checked your lander and it's clear where the mistake is:
You didn't replace your lander's outgoing links with the Voluum click url!
Instead, you've put the aff link directly on your lander. This is why clicks and conversions haven't been registering!
Go into Voluum > little gear icon > Setup, and copy the "Click URL", and paste that into your landers instead of the aff link.
Then in your voluum camp settings, specify the offer. That way, you hand over the reins to voluum, which will control which landers and offers to redirect your visitors to. (Right now your lander itself is redirecting the visitors, and bypassing voluum altogether - this is why no clicks are registered; and because you're bypassing voluum, there's no {clickid} generated, thus your conversions aren't tracked).
So I am wondering:
is anything wrong with the campaign's setup? Is it normal that from 96 clicks to have only 1 conversion?
Unfortunately, low conversion rates do happen. I've definitely seen much worse than 1 conversion for 96 clicks.
I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you rip more sweeps landing pages and test those. The example lander you've shown us, I can tell that it probably wouldn't do too well. It doesn't even emphasize to the visitor WHAT the discount is for.
But before you even do that, a major question I would ask, in order to design more effective landers, is:
Do most people in the AE even know what WADI is? What's the market share of WADI for online shopping in that geo?
If it's as well-known as Amazon.com is in US/CA/DE, then simply saying "get 25% off your next Amazon purchase just by downloading this free app" could be enough to get conversions. If not, then you'll need to find another angle - for example by focusing on selling the merchandise - quality, variety, convenience, low shipping costs, etc. etc.
Do perform this type of research and improve your lander design - then let's see if your stats will improve! Arabic geos have a LOT of potential - if you can figure out a good angle for a good offer.

Thank you for your extended explanation, Amy.
I went, like you advised me, into Voluum > little gear icon > Setup, and copy the "Click URL", and paste that into your landers instead of the aff link.
The problem now is that it appears an error: 404 when clicking on the download app button.
Do you have any idea on why is this happening?
Thank you very much for being supportive,
M

Again - another common newbie mistake almost everyone has made in the beginning.

By using the
Voluum click url as the outgoing url, you're effectively letting voluum control where to send the visitors, i.e. according to the campaign settings you've specified in Voluum for that particular campaign. This is why you can't just browse directly to the lander and click on the CTA - because then you'd be bypassing voluum, so of course you won't end up anywhere.
The correct way to test, would be to browse instead to the Voluum Campaign URL. Basically you'd set up a campaign in Voluum, specify in campaign settings, the lander(s) and offer(s) you want the visitors to be sent to. When you save the camp you'll get a campaign URL. Browse to this campaign url and you'll see one of the landers you've specified, and when you click on the CTR you'll now be sent to one of the offers you've specified in the camp settings.
Have fun! Let me know if you experience further issues.
