I don't have any experience with this at the moment but I do know one of my friends makes these kinds of offers work on PPV sources like 50onRed, etc

If you go wide then you can probably find some placements that work. I did, and made sales every day for a couple of weeks, but never got into positive ROI.
If I were to do it now then I would work harder at it and try out plenty of landers. But it was only that one placement out of...well I don't know how many. I"m sure there are more. I was pretty new at the game and getting consistent conversions. With a little extra work I might've had a winner. But first I had to find that placement.
Well can you drill down to the zone/target/source/publisher ID(s) where you got your conversions? If you can go to your traffic network and whitelist those or blacklist everything that cost sginficant cash but didn't convert, you might be off to a start. If you're selling something that makes those kind of conditions, it's not just random people wanting to download the next new game or scared into downloading AV software. My bet would be that the target/zone/publisher that sent you those conversions is a fairly focused site. (Or sites.)
yeah, running some CPS on pops right now. Works really well. Also use to run the same niche, depending on where your buying your traffic, it's really good. I'd definitely keep testing. If you need any advice, hit me up.
Yeah, saw few running CPS offers on our network. Not all succeeded. It takes time to reach the best sources and you need to be patient. But once you get them you can do good conversions.
Binary/Casino/Gambling and Live Cams have been dominating adult and mainstream POPs for maaaaany years. There is one problem thou, many of those campaigns are being run by the advertisers themselves, so at times, it will be hard to beat their bids. On the bright side, the campaigns are often managed by underpaid outsourced "media buyers" who don't really put any effort into optimization - all they do is use the same creatives over and over and watch the amount of sales.
As always, a clever&smart individual mediabuyer can optimize stuff better than an unmotivated mediabuyer that is part of a large ecosystem. So yeah, the chances are there.
I am from Propeller Ads and I can assure that a lot of affiliates make it work. They buy traffic on CPM/CPL and convert it into sales/deposits.
The most successful campaigns I saw spent 500K+ $

Try going to Adplexity, seeking out casino offers, taking notice of the types of placements that are responsible for most of the traffic, then targeting those same placements and other placements in the same niche/category.
