40-day guide campaign setup questions

Hi all
I'm almost there after going through the guide and watching tijn's videos (Landing Pages on Speed - Part 1 and Part 2 & Full Walkthrough of 30pd Campaign) but here're a couple of kinks that still needs ironing out and I need help...

1) in the guide, how to set up landing pages are not covered. I mean, I've done the images and uploaded to my server but it seems there's still something missing here...should I create a HTML file & include my image in it? What hypertext link should I assign to the landing page? I'm using cpv lab so should it be mydomain.com/base2.php or my affiliate link?

2) should my landing page be an HTML file or PHP file? or either way?

I'm almost ready to start my 30-day follow along challenge and any help would be greatly appreciated!

hey

re your questions

1) if you checked the $30pd post you will be able to get the landing page as a download. in this case its I think (from memory) a php file. Make your changes and then upload. Make sure you replace the links with http://yourdomain.com/path/base2.php.

2) either is fine. If you dont use any PHP then just go for straight HTML as it will load faster

if ytou have any furtrher problems just post a follow along with a link to your page and ill check it out

always php, as php language allows you to customize your LP. don't you want to track how your offer perform ? understand why each steps are needed, will make you successful faster

you can customize your lp with html & js (maxmind js geolocation) but with php its easier

you dont track the performance of your offer with php - that is done through the redirects with cpvlab or the js embed with 202

sorry didn't do that on purpose...

here's a question regarding campaign URL and LI approval...let's say I created 2 landers and set it up in cpvlab so that 67% of traffic goes to landers and 33% goes to the offer directly.

1) the "campaign URL" in cpvlab...Which lander does it refer to? I tried several times already and it seems I always got to see the same lander
2) let's say I just copy that campaign lander into LI. If the offer has entry/exit pop, will my campaign still be approved? I mean if I run split traffic, 33% of the traffic will be direct linking and they will see the pop instead of my lander. I believe if I don't have a lander & do direct linking only, LI will disapprove it but now I've got landers but my traffic will be split...would the entry/exit pop still be a problem for the 33% traffic?

Yeah thats by design. Your machine gets cookied so you see the same page. Just remove your cookies and revisit.

Make sure that your lander does not have the entry/exit pop. Set it to 100% to your lander (so to be clear, choose the Split option, but send 100% to your lander rather then direct to the offer).

Then submit for approvals.

Wait till approved.

Change it back to 67/33

I know this isn't related to topguns questions but I figured I'd ask in here instead of opening a new thread for a probably simple-to-answer question:

In the 40 day guide, you say "You will need to create two landing pages. One landing page will be an edited copy of the offer-landing page. The other will be a simple text based landing page with an outback logo."

Now I have a particular problem (no matter what campaigns I launch) with getting a decent LP CTR. "edited copy of the offer LP" makes sense (bo.lt etc. tutorials) but could you elaborate a bit more on the text based lander, i.e. what it should contain? Don't want to ask for the spoon but since I've blown more than $100 on LI already without a profit I'm starting to think that something with my ability to create landers must be wrong...

Look up the lander that maynzie showed in the $400 PPV with Penny Auctions guide. It is that sort of style.
