Facebook team, you so random

I started a facebook account 4 days ago and I successfully hit the $60/day budget 3 days in a row, then today I got upgraded to $300 account and then 30 mins later I refreshed the page and it said you've been upgraded to a $2000 account

4 days to a $2000 account, ill take that!

Same thing just happened to me twice! Only was 250-350-2k lol. They also approved some ads of mine today even though the URL they pointed to was down during the whole period of submitting and being approved.. So they must not have even bothered to look? lol

Me too - from $250 to $2000.

After a week, my account had unlimited spend. But now fb has banned my debit card for no reason and they do not reply to the 60 emails I have sent them regarding this.

10-28-2011 04:50 PM #7 jroes57 (Member)

Haha facebook bans my accounts after hitting the spend limit three days in a row! :P

10-28-2011 05:08 PM #8 hd2010 (Member)

me too $2k after few spends

11-01-2011 10:59 PM #9 dieter (Member)

Also banned. Double hit. One email saying suspect payment activity, then one immediately after saying bad bad ads, after all ads submitted yesterday were approved. Currently trying to make contact with someone at fb.

11-01-2011 11:06 PM #10 MJDUB (Senior Member)

good luck with that

11-01-2011 11:17 PM #11 maynzie (Moderator)

@ dieter

Sorry to hear man, but your account wont come back from the dead now, once they ban about suspicisous payment your down and out

Have to look into getting a new CC or something bro

11-02-2011 12:04 AM #12 dieter (Member)

Thanks, will let you know how/if they respond.

11-02-2011 12:05 AM #13 dieter (Member)

Thanks Maynzie. Checking relevant threads right now...

11-02-2011 11:02 AM #14 tijn (Moderator)

They mjust be getting desperate to hit their Year end financial targets. Maybe approvals will become easier soon as well,

11-02-2011 08:08 PM #15 MJDUB (Senior Member)

tijn, those were my thoughts exactly. banning is less frequent and pay bumps are much more frequent. and they approve even my shadiest stuff. recently they approved a set of ads that pointed to a URL that didn't even exist, just 404'd. a month or two ago things were more difficult. it also may just be me, but i seem to be having a harder time achieving ultra low cpc's even with killer CTR's.

11-02-2011 10:34 PM #16 maynzie (Moderator)

Motherfu%%er logged into my account on a vpn yesterday so now I got the "Suspicious payment activity, logged in from different place then your billing source"

Uh oh, rookie mistake !

But that's ok because this was a $500 CC with no points haha, so I wanted to start a new account anyway with my other CC's, but nonetheless fagbook is annoying !

11-02-2011 10:57 PM #17 MJDUB (Senior Member)

Man maynzie i did the same fucking thing. I had a vpn in florida for my mom and brothers account, accidentally logged in on my ip here in ohio, boom, suspicious payment activity. Use to get this a LOT when I was using sketchy ass proxies.

All of us really need to diversify and find new sources of traffic, this shit is too stressful, get a good campaign going and then worry every day that it's going to get shut down any minute. Or start marketing some real shit lol;

11-02-2011 11:03 PM #18 maynzie (Moderator)

Hahaha yeah!

This is like my third stream of income and I was really only toying around with it nothing serious haha

I found that out the hard way back in the day but now I make sure I scatter around the place haha Lots of low maintenance long term campaigns all over the place is what I prefer then yeah the one monster on a source u could get banned on for mispelling an ad

11-03-2011 02:08 AM #19 m0thm4n (Member)

That kinda sucks that you could get banned for logging into your FB accounts while on holiday!

11-03-2011 02:15 AM #20 MJDUB (Senior Member)

Yeah, I simply don't, or use a reomte desktop viewer like Team Viewer. So lame.

I guess using an API has it's benefits here, never having to log in to Facebook yourself to manage ads.

Some feedback:

I got the suspicious activity because of using my paypal which has been linked to my wife's fb account for 3 years. Straight after the suspicious activity, I got the ban notice for bad ads. Must have triggered a red flag. I thought the cause was a dead link to mate1 that I'd missed wiping out, but no, it seems it may have been to a paused be2 campaign, cause there were a lot of visitors to my paused ZA be2 campaign the day of the banning.

Anyway response to my wife:

Thanks for writing in again. We do not allow Ads for sites that are misleading or trap user information. (vague and meaningless etc) Also pretty ironic, coming from facebook!

She responded:

By misleading sites, do you mean dating sites? I was only using be2 (maybe a cupid ad as well, not sure if I'd started one or not)

Does that mean be2 isn't allowed on facebook? I have seen other ads which have it and I thought it was reputable.

Thanks again for talking to me.

Then the friendly reply came:

I have mentioned the reasons for rejection in the previous mail and we will be unable to reactivate your Account and will not allow these Advertisements on our platform due to the content of your Advertisements.

Maynzie, you are so right. Never ever rely on a single traffic source.

Couldn't agree more mjdub!

11-03-2011 08:09 AM #24 dantheman (Member)

@Dieter - They really are becoming more and more like google. Their responses are more vague now as well.. if they even respond. Tough life of being an affiliate marketer.

I see the only solution to overcome this challege is to create a product that you own and have full control over that many traffic sources accept and is scalable. Facebook denies at least 50% of all affiliate marketing offers because of their restricitons. Traffic sources are limiting the full potential of specific offers.

Yeah man its rough seas, I wouldnt put facebook as the number 1 income source anymore haha, but its some good good good money on the side

Just gotta be able to get access to lots of credit cards, ie VCC's that actually work and dont get caught out too but yeah, facebooks still money but its my third cash stream

Your Facebook Ads account has been disabled. All of your ads have been suspended and should not be run again on Facebook under any circumstances.
We typically disable an account if too many of its ads violate our Terms of Use or Advertising Guidelines.
Unfortunately, your Facebook Ads account will not be reactivated and you will be unable to continue advertising on Facebook
Thanks for your understanding.
Sincerely,
The Facebook Ads Team

Sincerely suck my dick. I don't even use facebook ads on the account it was banned on. Wtf?

11-05-2011 02:34 AM #29 cashmoney (Member)

I shot them an email asking what the problem was since I haven't used my ads account and they responded with:

Facebook will not tolerate behavior that users may find annoying or abusive, or that violates our Terms of Use or Advertising Guidelines. You have used your account to submit ads that are explicitly prohibited by our ad policies. As a result, your account has been permanently disabled.

We will not be able to reactivate your account, nor will you be able to recover any content within the account. You will also not be permitted to create a new account to restart your Facebook advertising. This decision is final.

Thank you for your understanding,

lol @ his name being Thaddeus. but that was a useless explanation.

Well let's face it, we will all be on FB as long as it remains somewhat workable. It's hard to go back to making $1k/day on POF after you've made $10k/day on FB.
