Running traffic to smartlink - smart idea? (8)

Hello guys, thanks for your help so far. This forum is amazing!

I wonder how to use smartlinks - as far as I understood a smartlink sends traffic to most promising offers on a network for a specific vertical/geo combination. I think about running traffic (trafficfactory, desktop, tier3) to Mobidea adult smartlink.

• how do I know how to design (angle) the banner if I don´t know what kind of offer eventually reaches the user?
• is it actually possible to analize data from traffic running to smartlinks ? If I constantly have different offers in the funnel, the data from the tracker is worth anything?
• I suppose I don´t use LP but directlink to offer?

Smartlinks from companies like Mobidea can work very well, BUT they focus on mobile carrier traffic, sending desktop traffic there won't do you much good. I'd say services like monetizer.com might be better for desktop.

These smartlinks were originally designed to monetize remnant (leftover) traffic, or any traffic that was deemed crappy ... but with the rise of mobile carrier billing, it evolved into a valid method of monetizing untargeted 3G traffic (without a LP) and many people still make money with it. So if you want to give it a try, go ahead, use generic banners or try redirects/pops... but do it with 3G mobile traffic.

You can still analyze this data, they support postbacks, so you can optimize the placements or banners...

One more tip: When running offer rotators on affiliate networks, pick networks that will actually show stats on which offers have converted for you.

Many networks (I would say most/all) have offer rotators or global redirect links, but most are "blackbox" where you'd only see overall stats on the number of conversions and revenue, but have no idea which particular offers have converted. This is no good, because it won't allow you to zoom in on the best offers and just run those.

I never worked with redirects - What would be a good source for this traffic?

You can try zeropark, plugrush ... many redirects are actually POPs resold as redirects ... so you can try pops too.

The advises you got here are right. Have you checked our Performance Fallback for Smartlinks? You can work with mobile, and set a rule on a platform to send desktop traffic to another offer (can be even monetizer), so that you make sure you monetize it all.

Adult Smartlink is really working well, and there is no need for you to create an additional landing page, it is enough to use direct links. In our case it shows you the offer with the highest EPC (average earnings per 100 clicks). Regarding banners - try "buttons", we've noticed they convert better. Make sure you translate them into language of the country you are targeting. Simple thing like "Are you older that 18?" with Yes/No options should work for you!
