From PPC to AM, a few newbish questions. Long Post Warning.

Hi, guys.

I'm new here, on the STM forum, this is my second post.

I'm not completely new to AM, I've tried it a few years back but I gave up after a few unsuccessful attempts. This time I want to walk this path for a long time.

Background...
I'm from Romania and I'm Google Adwords and Analytic certified and I run PPC projects as a freelancer (on upWork and for a few Digital Agencies). I'm doing this for a while now and I am quite good at it. I'm not very creative but I don't need to be. I'm very analytic and this is what matters most (an agency, hired me to do just this: optimize accounts).
I'm dreaming Adwords / Bing Ads / Facebook Ads (I work with them several hours each day) and I hope to put my expertise to good use in AM
There are, however, some drawbacks due to my profession. For one, I might be stuck in some "patterns" that might not work well with AM.

I've read many posts on this forum but I still have quite a few unanswered questions. I'm going to post them here and, hopefully, you guys will enlighten me.

Questions:
1. PPV in AM means something different than in PPC?
In PPC, PPV stands for Pay-Per-View but it refers to pay per video view. It's imported from the Cable/television and it's a metric that measures video views. In AM, pay-per-view means pay per pop-up view and it has nothing to do with videos?

2. What software/platforms are you using for Landing Pages?
I haven't found much data on Wordpress, for example. There are a lot of LP themes out there. Is there a reason why many AM are not using WP? Speed issues, security issues?

3.What verticals would you guys recommend that is close to (as in "can be done on") PPC/Search. I'm thinking: ecommerce, lead generation, and maybe sweepstakes.
If you're not from a country in the Tier 1 Geo, ecommerce is (almost) out of the question. I'm managing several big ecommerce accounts and I know that the big money is in US/UK/CAN/AUS. A big part of ecommerce' success lies with the Shopping Ads on Google. But, to run shopping ads in the above-mentioned countries you also need to own and run a legit business in the said country. For a guy from Romania, it's very difficult and expensive to setup an LLC in USA, for example.
Thus, for a PPC oriented guy, like myself, Lead-Gen and Sweepstakes are the only viable verticals. Is there another?

4. What affiliate network would you guys recommend, in 2017, for Sweepstakes and or Lead-Gen.
I've setup an account on ShareaSale but that is a "no go" for me at this point because the payment from that network, considering my address, is very slow (check by mail).

Thank you guys and I look forward to your replies.

If you are already a master at Adwords I would just stick with e-commerce as it is fairly easy to set-up with Shopify you just need to figure out what items you want to sell and can have dropshipped
I would dig into the e-commerce section of the forum

Loading speed is crucial in AM, WP isn't exactly known for that, check this 2 threads to get a better understanding :

Also consider PIN submit offers : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...o-promote-them

You need accounts with a few general affiliate networks, there is a ton of them but let's try some of these - they have presence here on the forum and accept newbies : adsimilis, affiliaxe, addiliate, clickdealer ... for PIN submits, try to go with : Kimia, Mobidea, Brokerbabe (Glize), BitterStrawbery ... there is a lot of them again.

Good luck

For PPC, without risking your account, the best bets would likely be eCommerce and lead gen, there are a few other verticals you can tackle as well, it's just going to take a bit of research. Avoid sweepstakes and pin submits if you don't want to risk your getting your account banned - i.e. don't push any offers that violate Adwords` ToS and ad guidelines.

As for running your own store, you can always look into doing drop shipping. If you register a company in Romania and do drop shipping, you should be able to avoid all of the VAT charges since you won't be doing business within the EU, won't be importing and holding products etc., it's pretty much perfect for Shopping ads.

Hey guys,

Thanks all for the updates. I've learned a lot in the past few days/weeks. Registered with some premium network and I started, timidly, with Pay-per-call.

@shisev, unfortunately, Shopping Ads are not available to businesses opened in Romania:
