Hi guys,
we are about to set up a lead generation Campaign on Adwords. I am completely green in this area. I guess the loading time of the site effects your CR on Adwords?! What would you aim for and where would you get your hosting?
Thanks in advance
POPE
Loading speed does affect the CVR indeed, but since you are about to work with clicked traffic, loading speed is of less importance than in case of POPs for example. I assume you are going to use more complicated landing pages, or even full site-like designs. So the most important part is for the lander to start rendering as soon as possible. As long as the user quickly sees that something is loading, they will wait, since they already showed some interest by clicking the ad.
Get a VPS with some good host - people on STM use beyondhosting, vultr, digitalocean ... there are many more that you can choose, just stay away from shared-hosts like hostgator, bluehost ... You can also utilize a CDN - amazon s3 cloud or rackspace CDN.
Check this for a tutorial on CDN setup : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...-Cost-Way-Ever!
Loading time even affects the adrank in adwords, so its SUPER important to make it as low as possible
I have been running my sites on WPE managed wordpress hosting but wondering if I should switch to a VPS?
@Seattle - depends on the amount of WP features you're using on your landers. If you could convert them to use a static site generator, that would probably give you faster landers.
Have you tested load times recently on WPE? They can creep up - I got a nasty shock when i tested one of my sites recently. Worth doing.
@caurmen - Yeah.. I think I am going to leave the bigger sites as is for now.. I might try testing a few of the landers elsewhere.. My load times are around 1.5 which doesnt seem terrible on desktop. A couple of these sites have forums on them so I think that is making them drag a bit.
Thanks for the input!
Thank you guys! Do you know how to integrate the conversion tag in clickfunnels? It says it should be in the body of the LP but there is no way to edit the body as far as I know. Chatted the support already, they said I should ask google.
@seattle - 1.5s is definitely enough load time it could be affecting conversions a bit. I wouldn't make a big thing of it or set it as top priority, but you might want to have a word with WPE support and ask them what can be done to speed it up. Sub-1s load times should be possible for almost any WP setup.
