Affiliate Network Whitelist IP List?

Just earlier on, one of my affiliate networks sent out an email updating everyone of their WHITELIST CHANGELIST
And in the email was many different IP addresses

I already asked my aff manager what it is, but have not yet received a reply

So thought I'd ask here to ask what this Whitelist IP was about?

I'm not super clear on what the email message said based on your post but if I were to guess, it's probably that the offer only accepts traffic from certain IP ranges and they were updating you on which IP ranges need to be used for that offer.

Hi aloeveraa1491,

The IP whitelist provided by your network is likely to be used as a preventative measure against fradulent conversions getting posted from other 3rd parties.

That is, they have a range of server IPs reserved on their end to process outbound conversion requests.

If you're using Voluum for tracking your campaigns, the IP whitelisting option is available in your affiliate network settings. -reference screenshot below

Otherwise, your traffic source should also have a whitelist option too.

It's highly improbable that the whitelist is to be used for traffic targeting, as this will significantly limit traffic deliverability for your campaign offers.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
Adrian

Hey,

Affiliate network regularly update their affiliates regarding the IPs which their tracking/affiliate platform uses (HO,Cake etc.).
Any conversion not coming from that IP should be considered as fraud as it was not generated by the advertiser. If you white-list them make sure to keep an eye out for those updates.

Hey Voluum,

You guys are great and I enjoy using your platform but you guys are seriously lacking in the aspect of white listing IP's. currently you support only 100 lines of IPs (on the Whitlisting page) without the ability to use a range of IPs. Any advertiser using more than 100 can not be properly whitelisted...

One feature id like to see in Voluum is tracking WITHOUT redirects.

Lots of ad networks dont like redirects anymore, and in fact decrease the reach (or increase ad costs) based on if the link redirects or not.

Google analytics works so well because there are no redirects necessary.

Agreed on the ip whitelist limitations too. 100 is too small

Everything in Voluum is limited to 100, it should be definitely raised to a more reasonable number..
