.js file displays gobbly goop...how to fix?

Hey Guys,

I was hoping someone could help me with this.

I downloaded a lander from Adplexity and I'm trying to view/edit the .js file in my html editor (notepad++).

However, All I get is a bunch of weird characters.

Can someone please tell me what's going on?

I've included a snippet below:

("

Try opening it in a different editor, like Visual Studio Code. Looks like the editor's getting confused about the encoding on the JS file, and a different editor might cope better.

Looks like it could be some kind of obfuscation as well. If a different editor doesn't work then someone might just be trying really hard to not have their code stolen. Or they could be embedding some code that steals some of your traffic.

EDIT: Looks like a bit of both. I think it's using this obfuscator:

Yes, I agree.

This affiliate is doing some ninja stuff to protect his landing page.

Ah, I wondered about encoding too. Haven't run across that encoder before - interesting, thanks.

In that case, probably worth running it through the decoder on that Github link- if you get usable Javascript out, you know what's going on.
