Hi Guys,
I'm asking a question that Im sure I already know the answer to. However, it's more of a confidence booster to hear it from you guys before I start calling local busineses offering my services.
If I could send leads direct to a local businesses phone line - what's the general response you receive (in some cases I'm sending paying customers within a particular niche)?
I'm presuming that they would be excited to sign up and they would hold you in high regard. Leads are the life blood of any business.
Please let me know your expericenes.
Thanks.
Can you be more specific with your question please? Are you asking about the reaction of the local businesses?
In case you are, prepare for a barrier that you will have to break initially : businesses are contacted by a PLENTY of marketers, who offer them all kinds of products and services ... you will be just "another" one and they will most likely be skeptic about it. Many of them will turn you down without even giving you the time to explain what you offer. This is better to handle in private, the best is when someone recommends you.
I'm sending callers seeking their services direct to their business phone number.
I understand that SEO etc takes months without any actual results + that would be met with a ton of resistance - I go straight after what I believe businesses really want - callers seeking their services direct to a phone of their choice.
I was just wondering what everyone has experienced - does the average business sign up fast, so it's an easy sell - as opposed to normal advertising, SEO etc - hard sell.
It's a comparatively easy sell: the demand's there, but the issue you'll have is credibility.
I'd recommend either going via referrals (which works very well) or doing some serious work to establish yourself as an expert in your local business community before you start selling.
A little social proof will go a long way.
If you're comfortable public speaking, get in touch with your local Chamber Of Commerce and offer to do some free seminars on Adwords, Facebook advertising, etc. Then mention somewhere in the seminars that you consult on these subjects.
That's an excellent way to build a local client base.
