Voluum Tracking Servers - Where are they located? (3)

Hello,

I am a bit new to Voluum and I wanted to know if you could control the server location of a campaign. For example if the redirects are going through Dallas but the campaign is in Australia, this wouldn't be ideal for page loading speeds.

I don't see anything on their website about this, and have been having trouble with their customer service discussing this.

Anyone got any insight?

Hey,

You've been having trouble with customer service? How come? Voluum is generally very responsive when it comes to this.

As for your question, they route through their nearest server, so it won't go through USA if you run Australian traffic.

I don't know specifically all their locations though - I just know they have enough globally.

Hope you're keeping well!

As expressed by manu, Voluum's server allocation for traffic handling is proximity based.
So if your campaign is targeted to Australia, then redirects will be handled via our Sydney datacenter.

At this time there isn't a viable way for us to toggle which region will be used for traffic handling client-side for specific campaigns.

If changing your current hosting service from Dallas to a more favorable location isn't an option, then it would definitely be worth to check the latency of the redirects by using an AU proxy.

Using pingdom's website speed test will give you a measure of this - plus they have Melbourne, Australia available as a location.
