Tracking Postback upsell using voluum and C2M (6)

So the aff network isn't able to provide separate offer links for steps 1 and 2?

Perhaps your AM could shed some light on how other affiliates are tracking this?

In Voluum in the ''Affiliate Networks'' section, click on Convert2Media and tick the ''Accept duplicate postbacks'' box.

That should do it!

This does not work; however with this, you can now manually add your conversion(s) under "conversion upload"

Well i've used C2M quite a bit and just by ticking that box and setting up a global postback on the network i've never had any problems and my step 2's have always been tracked correctly.

I suggest you try to work this out with a Voluum rep and your AM

And you need to click "Use Campaign Default Pixel" in C2M Events tab. Only than it works. Thanks

Hi guys,

Going back to upsell tracking on C2M, I do not recommend using the 'Accept Duplicate postbacks' option in Voluum as this may result in false positive conversions when a postback request is fired / retried.

The recommended approach for tracking upsells is by the inclusion of a unique transaction ID string appended to to the transaction ID parameter within your Voluum postback URL.

ie, &txid=upsell_1

This will segregate the upsells as unique transactions within your campaign's conversion reporting, thus giving you a clearer insight of primary to secondary conversion events per unique visitor*.
*The unique variable will be Voluum's click ID that is assigned per visitor or a fixed variable that is set by the traffic source.

Note: I would also need to verify if this option is accessible within C2M via the definition of a secondary unique postback URL for upsell events.
I'll get back to you once they get back to me.

Regards,
Adrian
