How to Get Free Conversions- Exit-Intent Follow Along (17)

I really enjoyed your other share - so will be looking out for further updates on this one as well! Thank you!

Just to clarify: So the main campaign is spend $400-600/day doing 20%ROI, and the exit splash made an extra $76 on top of the original revenue - revenue that would have been left on the table, correct?

Again thanks for sharing!

Hey Amy! Thanks. Yes that's $76 that wouldn't have been captured otherwise...and they didn't have to spend extra $ to do it. $76 isn't a huge amount so it won't make an unprofitable campaign profitable...but it's the first week and a good start!

Again, notice the Spend column…$0. This Exit campaign is used for paid traffic that would otherwise leave. Total of 31 Conversions and Revenue $1171. Thoughts or questions?
Very nice! Just for comparison, what revenue and cost did the main camp do during the same time period?

Hey Amy! Just got the data back from my client and it looks like total spend was $6,434 and total Revenue was $7,315...so with that $881 profit + the exit revenue the overall profit was $2,052! In the end the exit intent pop-up boosted ROI by 133%.

Geezus! So the exit pop's bringing in more profits than the main camp. Beautiful and ingenious!

this is something I have implemented in the past as well once I noticed, but I dont really track on my end on the popup as it kinda messes up my overall data plus to track it to the campaign level is also a bit cumbersone. this is def something that is well worked out for me

Good insight, thanks for that. If you do want to track to a specific campaign it's done very easily with a SubID...you can pass through the original campaign ID and track that data to see which campaign the conversions are coming from.

Getting better and better results!

Newbie question (since my experience with native is very minimal): Do I understand correctly that you've been testing different ad combinations on that exit pop? And turning off ads that don't convert? Are you using stats tools to decide which ads to turn off? Also, does the ad position matter? (i.e. There are 6 ads on that exit pop - have you tested the impact of ad position on the CTR/CR?)

Thanks again for taking the time to provide updates!

Great questions Amy! First off, YES this is testing different ad combinations on the exit pop. And yes, our client is turning off ads that don't convert well even if they have a high CTR...testing is crucial and seeing the stats along-side the individual ads make the decision process that much easier. So, as far as a stats tool they aren't using that as all the stats can be viewed directly in the ad server.

Your question on the ad position is actually genius...we haven't considered that as something that should be tracked, but that could be extremely helpful and insightful! Thanks so much for thinking of that. I think with a SUBId we could pass through the ad position but we'll look into that to see what the best way to implement that would be.

Great follow along! Do you send them directly to the offers, like you would for direct linking on the exit pop or do you send them to another presell page & "start from the beginning" with the vertical they clicked on?

This was sending them to another presell page, or you could do it like pushing people through a funnel, or maybe to a completely different offer. The thing with a lot of affiliates, if you have one presell page, you have a thousand.

The trick is that people are used to going from content to content, so a content to offer (when they're expecting more content) wouldn't be as effective.
