Cheap Clicks but low CR (4)
Hello stackers,
just started mobile marketing this year and made about $4k commission with PIN submits but not profitable yet. I'm doing banner ads and focused the last weeks on figuring out how to get high CTR so I pay less for each click. I can now do ads with 1%+ CTR and buy clicks for < 1 penny/cent.
But my problem is converting the cheap clicks. I'm aware that the offer and angle is the most important part of a campaign, so I need to work on offer selection and landers now. My strategy right now is to split test 3 different offers (direct link) for each segment against each other. But most of the time not even one of the three offers convert well enough to keep the campaign running and make it profitable with optimizing.
For example started a campaign today with 1k clicks split testing 3 offers (payout <$1) direct linking ->0 Conversions. Would you dive in and create landers/angles for each of the offers or move on to better offers?
I would test more offers for sure. But optimizing CTR heavily to get low cost clicks means often you are promising things in your flow which are not true, mislead, or are too general so landing on the offer will dissappoint consumers. Hence the low CR.
Better focus on a more natural flow, where you show consistency so there are no suprises or CR killers. You might pay a bit more, but your CR will be much better. But again, test offers from different advertisers.
There is often time not enough traffic on display to get results fast. With 1k clicks it takes forever to find a winner.
Better test on pops, find a winning GEO / Lander / Offer combo. Then scale to display.

Could you please tell me what kinds of offers do you promote? Is it Antivirus, Sweeps or Adult?
You should know that CTR is not the most important thing. I have many examples when a banner with 5% CTR gave me -50% ROI and another one with 0.2% = +300% ROI.
So as you have a lot of clicks, but without traffic, I think that your traffic is not relevant to your offer. You need to change you promo, I highly recommend to add LPs, cause it's very good to use your own LP even with banner traffic. Just go to Adplexity, download 3-5 the most popular ones, Clean them and run.
If we talk about offers. Can you ask your AM about these offers? Which traffic people're running, how it converts etc?
