AM ignoring me, how to get a new one?

AM been ignoring my skype msgs for almost a week. Do I just find another AM's skype and ask them to be my new AM? Not sure how to properly go about this.

Try to dig up some contacts on your affiliate networks website.

Try to contact someone at a higher position than your AM.

Another way - if you have friend who is working with the same network and his AM is better, you can ask to work with the same AM.

There is also a helpful list of network contacts here on STM:

Did you show you specific problem or you just drop in and say hi?

AMs are hit and miss sometimes... I had AMs I get along with well and we do business, but someone else said it doesn't work for them with the same AM... And also vice versa..

I've also had AMs I can discuss business with but traffic just doesn't pick up as much as we'd like...

That said, I've never had a combination of "bad" AM (not having a good relationship), and sending a lot of traffic, making money with them.

If you want to change your AM, don't be too negative in your request. Analyze how your messages looked like to them, improve if there's anything you can improve. You can even ask them for a change, stating that it's nothing personal, just that it's obvious they are very busy and cannot work with you. Acknowledge that you understand they cannot easily take a risk with someone new to them, but that you think you can run some nice numbers if you get proper support from them.

From my experience, this way you also give a very non-aggressive ultimatum to them, and if it doesn't work, they will also work with you on passing you to another AM. That new AM might also not work, but it's just how it is. Make sure you really adjust for your situation, while not being aggressive and without using any personal attacks (even if they are subtle/between the lines). If you do that, chances are you can change your AM rather easily. If they still don't answer, use the same strategy when contacting another AM at that network.

AM's are getting loads of Skype messages daily so it is easy to miss one or two. Send him an email with your request/question and i'm sure he will answer you soon!

Put the boss in copy - they'll reply :-)

I've noticed that most networks do have generic email addresses for generic requests.

In the way these email addresses are usually used it should forward the message to multiple receipts.
If you're not getting a skype reply send them an email follow-up on your pending issues.

By the end of the day they'll spend most of their time with a few performers from those hundred contacts on their skype.

Send your AM an email, it should be easier for them to spot among the hundreds of skype messages.

If that doesn't work, blatantly ask them, "Are you ignoring me?" "Are you receiving these messages?"

Usually if you ask a questions, you'll more likely get an answer.

Ultimately an AM will focus 75% of their time of the top handful of revenue generating affiliates. Obviously the affiliates who most significantly impact the rep's bottom line are going to demand the majority of the attention, compared to affiliates doing smaller volume.

That being said, obviously ignoring your affiliate is not good business. Maybe your rep is out of the office, sick? On vacation? Definitely try other avenues of contact other than Skype too. Send an email, if your AM is out of the office you'll get an autoresponder with a secondary point of contact.

Also - "Hey." "Hey bro." "Hey man." "You there?" - is not very effective. Be direct, be detailed, be positive and create urgency.

And to answer your original question, no, do not just try going around your rep. Most of the time their co-workers will just direct you back to the original account owner, and that will only create bad vibes, which will not help your case with your rep. Your best chance is clear communication, only try going around them as a last resort.

To be honest, I take very little time from my AMs once we have stuff going. It's true that they are always available for me when I have a request, but I have on average of 5 total request a week across all networks. Sure, sometimes it includes approving a big number of offers, but it's a very clear request at least. So it's not always the bigger volume affiliates that take time; on the contrary, I was taking much more of my AMs time when I was starting out.

I hear you, but believe me when I say that my top 5 accounts, affiliates I'm spending $5k-$20k per day with, are the affiliates I allocate the majority of resource time to. This goes beyond approving offers and general feedback. A large part of my day goes in to providing detailed reports, and helping my partners optimize and continue to drive volume day on day, and month on month. Once the big guys who drive the most GP dollars are taken care of and happy I move down my to-do list, and begin to dive in to my inbox and very long list of skype notifications.

Yeah, that is true. Once you spend a few hours a day doing those reports and then chatting every few days as they need it, it adds up. It kind of happens with my AMs too, we just talk a few hours like I said, but those few hours are offers and reports which take time to figure out by the AM before.

@OP : Like mentioned before, act in a way that you are aware of the things we discussed here, and you definitely improve your chances of getting a reply from your affiliate manager.

Hi!
Hopefully your AM comes around and has responded since! Best of Luck!

All great responses. In the end though, if your AM isn't allowing you to grow with them, you may simply need to go with a different one. At what point do you continue to wait for a response from your AM? As you said, time is money, and your time may be better spent looking elsewhere for a more responsive AM, whether that's within the same network or elsewhere. I personally try to touch base with all my affiliates at least 2-3 times a week. If I am unable to do so, I will consider transferring a few of my affiliates to another AM at my network.

Hope this issue has been resolved and you are with someone who is meeting your needs. If you have any more questions you can ping me on skype/tyler@revolutionforce.com
